Course DescriptionCompacted 4th/5th Grade Mathematics (E450M) is a course that combines the standards from both 4th and 5th grade mathematics to prepare students for 6th Grade Mathematics (M05) the following year. E450M focuses on the following areas: (1) developing understanding and fluency with multi-digit multiplication and division including decimals; (2) developing an understanding of fraction equivalence, fluency with addition and subtraction of fractions and multiplication and division of fractions by whole numbers; (3) understanding that geometric figures can be analyzed and classified based on their properties, including perimeter, area and volume. This course is designed for highly motivated students who learn quickly and process with increasing depth and complexity. Students are engaged in dynamic, high‐level learning. Compacted 4th/5th Grade Mathematics (E450M) is a course that combines the standards from both 4th and 5th grade mathematics to prepare students for 6th Grade Mathematics (M05) the following year.
