Salary G3 – Salary range £15,208 - £16,970 pro rata

To start as soon as possible, 16hours 15 minutes per week term time (timetable to be discussed at interview), 39 weeks per year (term time + training days). Temporary for a year with probation period until the end of the financial year.

Winchelsea Primary School needs a smart, enthusiastic, friendly school administrator to join our growing school. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and IT skills, be able to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision and work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

We have delightful children and highly committed staff who strive to make our friendly school a pleasant place to work and learn in. The role of administrator is highly valued and is an essential member of any school team. Previous school experience is preferred but not essential.

We are looking for someone who will share our key values and has the following skills:-

  • A warm welcoming manner to ensure visitors to the school are welcomed in a professional, polite and friendly way and adhere to the school’s security/safe guarding policies;
  • A proven track record of excellent administrative skills;
  • Self-motivated with a desire to achieve high standards in whatever they do, a strong work ethic, highly organised and dedicated;
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills;
  • A good knowledge of general office duties including filing, photocopying, collating documents, opening and ensuring timely distribution of internal and external mail;
  • An understanding of the importance of ensuring that front line enquiries from all stakeholders whether in person, by telephone or email are dealt with promptly. Ensuring that messages are passed on and suitable records are maintained of such enquiries, events, messages and appointments;
  • To act in a professional and confidential manner at all times;
  • To be a flexible member of the administration team; providing administrative support for specific projects, attending meetings as required or undertaking additional duties and responsibilities that may arise from time to time, commensurate with the scope and grade of the post.
