2011 Senior Night
# 3 Brett Morgan- Brett is the son of Scott and Rhonda Morgan. Brett is a member of the National Honor Society. He is also the Membership Chairman of the French Club. Brett has played 2 years of Varsity baseball and has been a 4 year member of the baseball program. Brett’s brother, David also played at West. This year Brett was selected to the Rawlings/Perfect Game All-Atlantic Region Team. Brett has received a baseball scholarship to WingateUniversity. Brett’s favorite baseball memory is Pitching and beating North Davidson earlier this season.
# 7 Zach Winkler- David Zachary Winkler is the son of David and Lisa Winkler. Zach belongs to the National Honor Society, French Club, Latin Club, Key Club, and a Crosby Scholar. Zach has played all 4 years on the Varsity baseball team. Zach has been accepted to several colleges but is continuing to explore his options for baseball next year. Zach’s favorite baseball memory is going 6-0 on the mound his sophomore year.
# 8 William Shane Carter- Shane is the son of Billy and Vanessa Carter. Shane is a member of the Science club. Shane has played 2 years of Varsity baseball. Shane has been a 3 time CPC All- Conference wrestler. Shane is looking to attend NC A&T, or VirginiaIntermonteCollege to play baseball. Shane’s favorite baseball memory is winning 2 state championships, and a wooden bat state championship with the Rivercats travel team.
# 14 Saveyon Taylor- Saveyon is the son of Joseph and Tawanna Taylor. Saveyon is in SGA, and French Club. Saveyon has played 2 years of Varsity baseball. He was All-District last year in Virginia. Saveyon’s favorite baseball memory is rounding all 4 bases to score in 1 play without hitting the ball.
#16 Ryan Mayhew- Ryan is the sonofDianeMayhew andLes Mayhew. Ryan has been on the Varsity baseball team for 3 years, and a 4 year member of the program. Ryan is a 2 time All-Conference player. He was named an Under-Armour Preseason All-American his Junior and Senior year. He was also named to the Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason All-American and All Region Team this year. Ryan’s best baseball memory is throwing a complete game to win the CPC Tournament last year. Ryan will be playing baseball next year at UNC- Wilmington.
# 17 Josh Clark- Josh is the son of Joe and Denise Clark. Josh has been on the varsity team for 3 years, and a 4 year participant in the program. Josh is a 2 time All-Conference player. Josh was also a NC STEP State Player of the Week his Junior and Senior year. Josh has also been a Student of the Year in 2009 and 2010. Josh’s favorite baseball memories are getting Bryce Harper out when he was 14, and getting a walk-off hit against Reagan last year in the Pink game. Josh will continue his baseball career next year at WingateUniversity.
Manager- Riley Stephenson- Riley is the son of Greg and Sue Stephenson. Riley has been the manager for the Varsity baseball team the past 4 years. Riley is a member of the Interact club, Red Cross club and a Crosby Scholar. Riley will be attending UNC-Wilmington next year and will be majoring in business.
To all the seniors; the coaches would like to wish you good luck in all your future endeavors. We appreciate all of your hard work, dedication, and loyalty to West Forsyth, and the baseball program.
