3/9/15 Meeting Minutes

Excused absence: Audrey Channett, Izzy Norman, Lucas Plott, Maddie Bovasso, Ugoji Nwanji, William Brazil; No excused: John Edwards, Lauren Swink, Will Patten.

Members sign in with Meg Aldridge, standing in for Secretary Maddie Bovasso.

President Callie Alvaradowill call the meeting to orderand lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Icebreaker lead by Executive Board, which they learned at the SYC conference in High Point. They started in small groups, leaning on one another in a “chair” position, then moved to a larger circle.

Letter to members and parents about By Laws changes and mandatory attendance to Bunny Run 5K/Festival or Spring Into Arts Festival were handed out.

City Council, 6:00pm in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 26 Union Street South.

3/12 will be attended by Merrill, Mary Lauren, Loren, Mitchell, Seth, Audrey, Jake, Donovan, Lauren, Aarushi, Caitlin; 4/9 will be attended by Meg, Allyson, Riley, Symira, Izzy, Raina, Callie, Dorothy, John Edwards

Community Free Clinic, 3/17, Jake Ryan, chair. Katherine Shue has signed up. One more volunteer needed.

Kitty City Cat Food Drive & Goody Bags, Will Patten, chair. The goodie bags and food were delivered to Kitty City by Will. This information was reported to council by Callie, as Will was absent.

Backpacks for Hope, 3/6, 3pm, Academy Rec Center, chair Maddie Bovasso. Kathleen reported, in absence of Maddie, theSt. Patrick’s Day bags were prepared by: Katleen, Jake, John, Rebekah, William B., Brandon.

SeussFest, 3/7, 10am-1pm, Concord Library, Chair Symira Squires. Volunteers played Seuss related games and crafts with children: Luke, Kerry, Maggie, William B., Ugoji, Amelia, Emily H., Lia, Audrey and Dorothy.

Concord on Canvas, 3/13, 6:30-9:30pm, Hotel Concord, chair Merrill Douglass. Volunteers to showcase the artwork and assist as needed are: Caitlin, Mitchell and William B.

Guys wear sports slacks (NO JEANS or tennis shoes) and button down shirt; Girls wear dressy casual dresses.

Bowling/Laser Tag Social, 3/14, 2:30 – 5:30pm, Spare Time in Huntersville, chair Allyson Finley, will be attended by:Adelle, Hannah Ross, Riley, Kerry, Symira, Emily H., Merrill, Carter, Lia, Katleen, Rebekah & Brandon.

Bunny Run 5K, 4/4, 8:00am-12pm, chair Katherine Shue. 4 volunteers needed.

Bunny Run Festival, 4/4, 9:00-1pm, chair Lia Esposita. 8 volunteers needed.

Meet on Union Street/Means Ave. downtown across from Historic Courthouse. Wear your t-shirt! Sign Up Genius links will be sent from Debbie as soon as the chairs create them.

Spring Into Arts Festival, 5/2, times TBD, downtown Concord, chairs Maddie Bovasso & Riley Olson

Awards Banquet, 5/18, Hotel Concord. Committee chairs are: Invitation- Merrill, Reservations-Meg & Raina, Program-Ugoji, Food/Drink-Allyson, Decorations-Riley & John, Clean up-Luke.

Committees will start meeting soon!!! Read your emails!!! Callie reported the Sign Up Genius link will be created for each committee, except Invitation & Programs, which are pre-determined.
