2. How to work Solidoodle Printer

a. To load filament

(1) Cut the current filament about 1 inch above the head

(2) Select extrude to allow the thread to come out. As it gets down , you can try to insert the thread gently. DO NOT PUSH – let the extruder pull it.

(3) Keep extruding until you see the new color come through.

(4) If it Jams – go to 2b to get it unstuck and clean out.

b. To load filament if stuck

(1) Unscrew the nut holding the casing

(2) Pull down side

(3) Insert filament and push side up.

(4) Screw side back on

(5) It is ready to use.

3. To Print in 3D (http://support.solidoodle.com/hc/en-us/articles/201486604-How-to-Print)

a. Files must end in NAME.STL to print

b. Use files on thumb drive or flash drive, email, or teachers outbox. From Blender you can export as a FILE.STL

c. Save the file to the Blender Working Printer Folder

d. Open the Solidoodle print icon.

e. Select add object to print.

f. Adjust as needed.

g. Select center.

h. Check the following in manual mode

(1) temperature of printer – should be 214 to 215

(2) speed 100

(3) ext – 10

(4) retract 10

(5) Ensure print bed and extruder are on

(6) Spray the print bed with a light coating of hairspray to ensure the thread sticks

(7) If these are ok, then select extrude once and allow a little to ensure flow of material

i. Select SLICE STR – slice the object

j. Select run when you see the bed and extruder temperatures are meet or set on automatic start.

k. Print can take minutes to hours and time countdown is shown at top of software.

l. When done, remove object carefully as it can be very hot. Use can use scrapper to gently to get object off.

m. Printer shut down if not in use by turning off bed and heaters. Select file quit.

n. You must unplug the power and attachment to the computer when off.

4. Cleaning Printer

a. Use toothbrush to clean the plate never a cloth or tissue.

b. Keep a piece of thread in the print head to prevent dust and dirt from getting in the system.
