2nd Semester Final Essay Requirements & Rubric
Objective: Students will write a 5 paragraph essay in Spanish expressing the following ideas:
1. Introduction: Minimum of 3 Sentences: Write three complete sentences in Spanish introducing yourself, your friend, and your family
2. Body-Paragraph I - Minimum of 20 Sentences: ¿Quién soy yo?
Name, age, description of yourself, interests, likes, dislikes, preferences, wants, needs, what you have to do regularly during the week, what you are going to do this weekend, what you typically eat and do not generally eat and drink, what you ought to do, where you live, with whom you live, what you know how to do well, whom you know, what time you typically go to sleep on a school night-on a weekend, what you believe to be true or not true.
3. Body-Paragraph II – Minimum of 20 Sentences: ¿Quién es mi amigo?
Name, age, description, interests, likes, dislikes, preferences, wants, needs, what he/she has to do regularly during the week, what he/she is going to do this weekend, what he/she typically eats or doesn’t eat/drink, what he/she is going to do this weekend, where he/she lives, with whom he/she lives, what he/she knows how to do well, who he/she knows, what time he/she typically goes to sleep on a school night-on a weekend, what he/she believes to be true or not true.
4. Body-Paragraph III – Minimum of 20 Sentences: ¿Cómo es mi familia?
Describe your family using the same guidelines as noted in paragraphs I – II above.
5. Summary-Conclusion-Paragraph IV –Minimum of 5 Sentences: ¿Al fin, cómo somos nosotros?
Summarize in your own words in Spanish the common topics from the 3 above paragraphs.

- Essay is neatly written by hand or typed, double spaced, has 1-inch margins, and is in Times New Roman (12 pt.) font.
- If hand written, use college-rule-3 ring binder paper, margins are clear, bottom line is not used, back of paper is not used, blue or black ink only
- Handwritten or typed copy must be turned in on the due date. No late work will be accepted.
