Meeting venue

The 28th session of the Committee for the Co-ordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA) will be held in meeting room 6 at the OECD Conference Centre, OECD Headquarters, in Paris on 29-30 September 2016.

Registration and identification badges

Participants are requested to register well in advance, but no later than Friday 16th September 2016, to facilitate smooth co-ordination in the issuance of name badges and the compilation of the list of participants. To register, please fill in the attached registration form and return by email to .

Upon arrival at the OECD, you must register at the reception desk to obtain your visitor's badge. You will need to bring photo identification with you to receive your badge. All badges will be printed and waiting for you. These badges will give you access to specific areas during the time and dates of the meeting and must be worn at all times within the OECD building.

Please arrive well in advance of the start of the meeting to allow sufficient time for the security and registration formalities.

Internet access

The OECD has free wifi throughout the building. Connection details will be provided to participants at the start of the meeting.

Travelling to France

Visa requirements

European Union citizens do not need a visa to travel to France. For other travellers, depending on nationality, length and purpose of stay in France, a visa may be required. The visa needs to be obtained before departure; for more information, please consult the website of the French Foreign Affairs Ministry

Paris airports

There are 2 airports in the Paris area. North of Paris is Paris Charles de Gaulle (Paris CDG) airport, the largest airport and most often used for international flights. Travelling to Paris by train

Paris can be reached by 2 high-speed international trains:

 Thalys - for travellers from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands

 Eurostar - for travellers from the United Kingdom

Breaks and refreshments

Coffee/tea will be provided during the course of the event. Exact break times will be indicated on the agenda.

Catering services are available at:
- The Expresso, a snack bar, open from 8 am until 5 pm, located on the -1 level of the Conference Centre.
- Le Buffet du Parc, a self-service restaurant located on the ground floor of the Conference Centre, open from 11.45 am to 2.15 pm.
- Le Restaurant des Nations situated at level 1 of the Conference Centre. A brasserie with efficient waiter service, open from noon until 2 pm.

Social event

A museum visit/subscription dinner will be held on the evening of 29th September at the Musée d’Orsay (10 minute direct train journey from the OECD Conference Centre). We very much hope that you will be able to attend and ask you to kindly indicate your availability on the registration form.

  • 3-course dinner (chef Yann Landureau) including wine, coffee and mineral water: 20h – 22h

The Musée d’Orsay holds the world's largest collection of Impressionist art (Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Sisley, Gauguin, and Van Gogh). Housed in the former Gare d'Orsay, a Beaux-Arts railway station built between 1898 and 1900 on the left bank of the Seine, the collections include paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography dating from 1848 to 1914.

Fixed Menu (special dietary requirements can also be accommodated)

  • Starter - Smoked salmon and shrimp millefeuille with a minty mango jelly
  • Main - Red mullet fillet, served with smoked Iberico chorizo
  • Cheese course - Roquefort and walnuts served on a bed of salad
  • Dessert - Traditional French chocolate cake
  • Drinks – Saumur blanc AOC/Corbières/mineral water/coffee

Price

The cost per delegate will be in the range of Eur 60-74 maximum, hopefully less. This includes museum entry, dinner and all drinks plus a secure cloakroom service where you can leave coats/computers.
