28 Days of Prayer

February 15: (Day 1): “In this manner pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-11. Prayer is a means of accomplishing the will of God. Pray today that God’s will becomes the focus of every member of the Thatchurch.com.

February 16: (Day 2): “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:25, 33. Pray that we can be free from the worries of this life so that we may be focused on accomplishing God’s will in behalf of His Kingdom.

February 17: (Day 3): “And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” I John 2:17. Pray for a conscious awareness of what is passing away and what is eternal.

February 18: (Day 4): “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Today we pray for the strength of heart and character to finish what God has called our church to do.

February 19: (Day 5): “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will…strengthened with all might… for all patience and longsuffering…” Colossians 1:9-11. Knowing God’s will for us and having the strength to accomplish it is a great prayer to pray for one another.

February 20: (Day 6): “Brothers, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do…I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14. A recurring theme of Paul is “spiritual stick-to-itiveness.” Pray that we each will keep our eyes on the prize of Christ, the key to finishing what God has called us to do.

February 21: (Day 7): “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62. One cannot plow a straight row looking backwards. Once we know the will of God we cannot follow through if we are second guessing ourselves. Pray for clear, committed, forward thinking.

February 22: (Day 8): “And without faith it is impossible to please God…”Hebrews 11:6. As we take this journey together, pray that we will make the steps of faith in which God will lead us.

February 23: (Day 9): “Through Jesus, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise…and do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Hebrews 13:15-16. Our journey of faith will lead us to sacrifices in prayer, effort and giving. Pray that these things will be done in faith bringing great pleasure to our God.

February 24: (Day 10): “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” I Peter 2:9. God has made us His people. Let us pray that we declare His praises through our giving of our time, our talents and our treasures. He deserves such praise.

February 25: (Day 11): “Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel…no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.” Philippians 4:15-16. The Philippians supported Paul’s ministry with multiple offerings. Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead each of us to do what is needed to accomplish His will for us.

February 26:(Day 12): “I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.” Philippians 4:18. Our offerings are sweet aromas, acceptable sacrifices, pleasing God to no end. Pray for awareness that when we give, our gifts bring great pleasure to God.

February 27: (Day 13): “And God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19. God rewards His people for their generosity. Pray for a heart of faith to believe God and His promises to us.

February 28: (Day 14): “Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God... Let them do good…ready to give, willing to share…” I Timothy 6:17-19. We are a blessed and rich people. Pray for our readiness to give and our willingness to share.

February 29: (Day 15): “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.” Acts 2:44-45. The first believers were found meeting together and giving as their first responses to their new faith. Pray that we will be like them.

March 1: (Day 16): “…that in a great trial of their affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality (generosity)…” 2 Corinthians 8:1-5. The Macedonian Christians were in great trial and poverty but that did not stop the spirit of giving to the cause of Christ. Pray for a spirit generosity for the cause of Christ.

March 2: (Day 17): “So we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this grace in you as well. But as you abound in everything…see you abound in this grace also.” 2 Corinthians 8:6-7. Giving is a grace of God. Giving is a blessing God has provided us. Pray, thankfully, today for God giving you this opportunity to give to His church’s work.

March 3: (Day 18): “It is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago; but now you also must complete the doing of it…” 2 Corinthians 8:10-11. Paul again stresses completing the offering they had committed themselves to do. Pray for a steadfast mind in completing what God has called our church to accomplish for Him.

March 4: (Day 19): “Now this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if..He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” I John 5:14-15. Pray that God will reveal to you and your family what He wants you to give in the “Found Faithful” program.

March 5: (Day 20): “If any one lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5. Continue to ask God for wisdom, the knowledge of His will for you, regarding your commitment to His Kingdom through the “GREATER” program.

March 6: (Day 21): “So I am doing a great work so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and come down to you? But they sent me this message four times, and I answered them in the same manner.” Nehemiah 6:3-4. Nehemiah’s enemies were relentless in wanting him to stop the building of the wall of Jerusalem. He was about a great work that demanded fulfillment. Pray for the spirit of Nehemiah to finish the great work to which God has called us.

March 7: (Day 22): “The people rejoiced at the willing response of the their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord.” I Chronicles 29:9. In the offering taken for the temple, the leaders of Israel set the tone for generous and sacrificial giving by their willingness to give. Pray for a spirit of willingness to give to spread throughout our church bringing joy to each of us.

March 8: (Day 23): “Who am I, and who are we, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.” I Chronicles 29:14. David acknowledges that the generosity of the people has been exceeded only by the generosity of God, who had given them their wealth in the first place. Pray for a spirit of generosity that truly reflects God’s generosity to us.

March 9: (Day 24): “Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy name comes from your hand and all of it belongs to you.” I Chronicles 29:16. David affirms that all that they have given has come from God’s hand. God owns all things and we return to Him, through our giving, what is already His. Pray that we recognize our stewardship of the resources He has entrusted to us.

March 10: (Day 25) “For God so loved the world that He gave….” John 3:16. These opening words of the most popular verse in the Bible, reveal that God is a giver to us and that He is motivated to give by His love for us. Pray that as we give back to Him and for others, that we are also motivated by love for God and a love for the eternal souls of people.

March 11: (Day 26): “Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” Matthew 25:21. God calls us to faithfulness in the work to which He has called us and with the resources He has entrusted to us. Pray for a spirit of faithfulness in all things.

March 12: (Day 27): “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9. God looks for a people who will have a loyal, undivided heart for Him and His work on earth. Pray for a loyal, undivided heart.

March 13: (Day 28): “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3. Today we make our commitments for our“GREATER”program. Ask God to show us His great and mighty things which we have not known so far.
