26. 2018 Weymouth Rotary Foundation Scholarship Program

The Weymouth Rotary Foundation will be awarding scholarships totaling $24,000. These awards are available to all graduates, including Career & Technical Education students. The scholarships will be granted to high school seniors who most exemplify the Rotary International ideal of “Service above Self”. A student’s involvement in community service as a VOLUNTEER will weigh heavily in the final decision. Voluntary community service can be through church groups, scouts or other service organizations. Qualified applicants must be a Weymouth resident and be graduating from Weymouth High School or South Shore Christian Academy.

20. Weymouth High School Class of 2018 Scholarship

Applications are available for all members of the class of 2018. This one application includes many individual scholarships that will be awarded only to Weymouth High School 2018 graduates who complete the application.

All applications will be numbered and must be signed out by the individual student with Mrs. Andrews in the MaroonGuidance Office. Application deadline is March 16, 2018. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

10. 2018 Town of Weymouth Scholarship Awards

Any Town of Weymouth resident seeking education beyond high school at a college or institution deemed accredited by the Scholarship Committee is eligible to apply. For example, high school seniors, citizens currently enrolled in a college program or citizens planning to return to school for additional training. In the interest of fairness, the one exception is that those applicants who have already received two awards will not be considered. Since 1991, the committee is approaching $800,000 in renewable scholarships. Scholarship amounts range from $3000 to $500. Scholarship applicants are judged on community involvement, academic achievement, character and financial need.

Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible by community members coming forward to create a coffee mug and glass with all proceeds benefiting Weymouth High School students. There will be multiple $500 scholarships awarded. An essay on a life changing event that you (or someone you know) have experienced is required.

  1. B. Davis Scholarship

The Student Award Search Aid was created to help students search for scholarship opportunities. By visiting

you will be able to search for scholarships and apply for the B. Davis Scholarship. The winner of this scholarship will receive $1000. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words and explain the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.

6. Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc.

This scholarship is awarded to a high school senior that will be attending a four year US college or university, full time. The student must be a US citizen or permanent resident with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate leadership abilities through participating in community services or other extra-curricular activities. There will be three to four scholarships available on a national level in the amount of $2500.

  1. 2018 Fallon Ambulance Scholarship Program

EMT training can lead to several career paths as well as provide a great foundation for your college career. Selected recipients will receive full sponsorship of EMT training at an Accredited EMT training institute that is designated by Fallon Ambulance Service.

15. The Rebekah Assembly of Massachusetts, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to qualified seniors who plan to further their education by attending a two or four-year college program. The application lists the requirements for this scholarship.

16. The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewable, 4-year scholarships to students from New England with financial need who display academic excellence, a commitment to serving others in school, the community or at home, and a strong work ethic. Awards are limited to residents of New England states and range from $3,000 to $18,000.

17. Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue their scholarship program. They will be awarding scholarships up to $1000. Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their website

19. South Shore Bay Band Music Achievement Scholarship

This award is offered to any high school music student planning to attend a college or university in the next academic year. Applicants will be judged on information provided on the completed application form. The award amount may vary from year to year, depending on the availability of funds, but has historically averaged around $300 per recipient.

21. Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation Scholarship

The family and friends of Mark Bavis have established a scholarship to preserve his memory and to create something good and lasting out of the tragedy of September 11th. This scholarship is not academically based, but need based. Candidates for this scholarship have proven leadership within their school and community.

Applications and additional information are available in both guidance offices. Applications must be returned via mail by March 15, 2018.

22. HarborOne Community Scholarship

HarborOne is awarding twenty $5000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and community. Someone in the immediate family must have an active HarborOne account in good standing opened by March 15th.

23. Henry O. Peabody Scholarship Program

This scholarship was established to carry out the legacy of Mr. Peabody’s will. Renewable scholarship awards ranging from $1000-$5000 for post-high school study are available to women of all ages to assist them in achieving a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree on a fullor part time basis. Applications are strongly encouraged from women enrolled or planning to enroll in a vocational-technical school.

24. Pilgrim Skating Arena, Inc. Scholarship

Applications for the 2018 scholarships are available as of February 14th. Ten $10,000 scholarships will be awarded. You do not need to be a hockey player or figure skater for this scholarship. This is a merit based scholarship. Any graduating high school senior intending to further his or her education at any accredited institution of higher learning is eligible to apply.

Applications must be picked up in person in Pilgrim’s pro shop. Completed applications must be returned in person and signed. Application deadline is April 13, 2018

27. Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships

The University of the Aftermarket Foundation operates the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships Central website and, along with more than 40 other automotive organizations, awards scholarships to students who apply online. Awards range from $1000-$10,000. Graduating seniors interested in Automotive, Collision, HD, or Alternative Fuel programs are encouraged to apply.

28. Scholarship at Eastern Nazarene College

Eastern Nazarene is offering a new scholarship for local residents of Weymouth and the greater Quincy area, that would provide new students for fall 2018 with a 50% tuition discount. Academic requirements include 1070 SAT or 21 ACT and GPA of 3.0 or higher.

29. Columbian Square Business Association Scholarship

The Columbian Square Business Association is awarding a two $500 scholarships to WHS seniors. Students will submit an essay describing the role of social responsibility within a local business community.

30. DJJ Arts Scholarship

The David Jonathan Jose Foundation is offering $1000 memorial scholarships to any Massachusetts High School senior pursuing higher education in visual arts or preforming arts or any subject of the arts. There is no GPA requirement and the scholarships are not limited to only US citizens.

31. Amelia G. Armstrong Grant

The Alpha Iota Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gama Society International offers this $2000 grant, honoring an outstanding teacher who dedicated her life to teach and help students. This grant is awarded to a promising high school senior pursuing a career in education.

32. The Rockland Trust Scholarship

Rockland Trust is awarding nine $2500 scholarships to high school seniors in their market area. Selection is based on the applicant’s academic achievement, community service, and extracurricular activities.

33. Weymouth Girls Soccer Scholarship

Two $650 scholarships will be given to female graduating seniors from Weymouth High School, pursuing education beyond high school. Past participation with Weymouth Girls Soccer will be given preference.
