24th Annual Training Program March 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2009

Purpose

  1. To promote, educate, and train Harbor Masters.
  1. To monitor changes in Harbor Master related laws and to urge additional changes as requested by Membership.
  1. To share information that is of interest to members.
  1. To upgrade the position of Harbor Masters through training sessions and workshops.

Membership is open to all Harbor Masters,
Coastal and Inland
Membership fee includes Harbor Master,
Deputy Harbor Master, and Assistants.

The State of Maine Harbor Masters Association was formed and incorporated in 1985. Annual training sessions have been held since 1986. We urge all Harbor Masters and Deputies to take the basic courses first, and then return yearly for the advanced courses. Effective August 23, 2006, Sec 1.38 MRSA §1-A, a person appointed or reappointed a harbor master or a deputy harbor master must complete the basic harbor master training course within one year after being appointed or reappointed unless that person has previously completed the course.
