Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council Announces their 2018 Show: Earth Wind and Fiber

It is with great excitement that the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council (AFAC)will once again present an exhibit of fiber art works to the public free of charge. The show will be April 78, 2018 at the Albuquerque Garden Center, 10210 Lomas Blvd, NE, Albuquerque.

Earth, Wind & Fiber, the theme of this show, provides an opportunity for all levels of fiber lovers to show their work in a beautiful and creative environment. Works will be exhibited from well-known Albuquerque fiber artists as well as hobbyists who enjoy their time creating their own pieces, showcasingartistry at all skill levels.

Artists will use their personal interpretation of this theme in the pieces they enter. These techniques will include, butwill not be limited to, sewing, quilting, hand knitting, machine knitting, silk painting, doll making, crochet work, bead work, spinning, weaving, rug hooking, polymer clay, felting, lace making, and embroidery.

If you are intrigued by what can be done with natural and synthetic fiber, yarns, threads, beads and dyes,plan to be amazed at the art created. The display will combine all fiber techniques.

Along with the individual pieces of fiber art displayed, the guilds responsible for keeping their techniques alive will be demonstrating their work throughout the two days. In 2016, there were demonstrations of bobbin lace, crochet, beading, applique, knitting, quilting, doll making, and rug hooking. In this upcoming show, you can expect that list of demonstrations to grow.

General Information Summary

The Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council, Inc. (AFAC) is presenting their 2018 Spring show, themed Earth, Wind & Fiber, April 7-8, 2018 at the ABQ Garden Center.
