Purpose / This unit standard is for people who wish to improve their employment practices, or who are moving towards a position of responsibility for staff management.
People credited with this unit standard are able to describe employment legislation in relation to job descriptions and write a job description.

Outcome 1
Describe employment legislation requirements for job descriptions.
Evidence requirements
1.1Job descriptions are described in relation to employment agreements.
1.2The procedures for amending job descriptions during the employee’s tenure are described in accordance with current industry practice.
Outcome 2
Write a job description.
Evidence requirements
2.1The job description identifies the position title, location of the workplace, and lines of reporting.
2.2The job description identifies the duties and the associated responsibilities, and performance measures for the position.
Rangeevidence is required for at least two duties.
2.3The job description identifies person specifications.
