Explanatory notes

Definitions

Enterprise means an organisation where assessment is taking place, and/or where the trainee is employed.

Enterprise procedures refer to the documented procedures used by the organisation carrying out the work and applicable to the tasks being carried out. They may include but are not limited to – standard operating procedures, site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures, codes of practice, quality assurance procedures, housekeeping standards, charging of time and materials, management of drawings and documentation, procedures to comply with legislative and local body requirements.

1.1The components of an annealing Lehr are identified, andtheir operation described in accordance with enterprise procedures.

1.2Glass container conveying equipment isidentified, and its operation described in accordance with enterprise procedures.

Rangecontainer conveying equipment – conveyors, conveyor transfer systems, accumulation tables, data codeapplicator.

1.3Glass container inspection and testing equipment isidentified, and its operation described in accordance with enterprise procedures.

Rangecontainer inspection and testing equipment – impact simulator, automated inspection equipment, automatic and manual pressure testing equipment, freak detector.

1.4Glass container packaging equipment isidentified, and its operation described in accordance with enterprise procedures.

Rangecontainer packaging equipment – layer seal machine, palletiser, bar coder, shuttle car, shrink wrapper, pallet ticketer.
