This Breeding Contract, entered into on the ______day of ______, 201__, between Alford Stables and the undersigned mare owner (“Owner”) is subject to the following terms and conditions:
1) The Owner shall deliver an executed copy of this contract prior to shipment of semen or upon arrival of the mare at the farm.
2) The Mare will be in good condition and free of disease and infection (clean culture required on all open mares) or she may be rejected by Alford Stables, at its discretion. If the designated Mare is determined to be unfit for breeding, a substitute may be used based on approval by Alford Stables during the contract period.
3) Alford Stables shall not be liable for death, sickness and/or accident, including consequential damages, caused to Mare and/or Foal. In the event of an emergency, the Owner consents to all medical treatment necessary for the Mare/or Foal’s well being and agrees to pay for such treatment.
4) The Breeding Fees are:
$500.00 - Phantom of the Ozarks, Phantom’s Ozark Jubilee, Red Dun It,
Red Ransom, Top This, Bronze Alert, Hard Cash, and
The Top General
5) Multiple Mare Discount - For 2 or more mares:
The Breeding Fee for a stallion is reduced to $400.00 per mare after the first mare.
6) LIMITED LIVE FOAL GUARANTEE: A Mare not declared in foal during the breeding season in which this contract was executed, will be rebred the following season at no additional breeding fee. A Mare declared in foal (by a DVM) during the breeding season in which this contract was executed, but who failed to deliver a foal that stands and nurses, will be rebred during the next available breeding season at no additional breeding fee. (Any substitute Mare must be approved by Alford Stables.)
7) The Owner hereby grants a lien on the Mare and/or Foal to Alford Stables for all unpaid fees.
8) COLOR GUARANTEE: Alford Stables guarantees that Phantom of the Ozarks is a perlino (DNA tested-UC Davis) and will pass on 1 dilute color gene to each of his offspring, or the breeder of that offspring will receive a refund of the breeding fee. (This guarantee is in effect only if the offspring has been DNA verified for color and parentage.)

FARM _____
1) The Owner shall present Alford Stables a negative Coggins test, not more than one year old, upon arrival at the farm. Mares bred at Alford Stables shall have current vaccinations and dewormings.
2) Veterinary and other necessary expenses for Mare and/or Foal care are not part of the Breeding Fee and shall be paid by the Owner.
3) Mares will be bred by natural cover or artificially at the discretion of Alford Stables.
4) Board Costs: Pasture - Dry Mare $8.00 Wet Mare $10.00
Stall - Dry Mare $9.00 Wet Mare $11.00
5) The Owner shall pay $250.00 at booking. The remainder of the breeding fee as well as all board, veterinary and misc. expenses will be paid prior to the Mare and/or Foal leaving Alford Stables.

COOLED, SHIPPED SEMEN _____
(Specified Stallions Only)
1) The Owner shall pay $330.00 at booking, prior to the first shipment of cooled semen. The balance of costs is due upon receipt of this shipment by the Owner or his/her representative. All subsequent shipments will be at a cost of $160.00/shipment, which will be due upon receipt of said shipment.

2) The Owner must contact Alford Stables on the first day of the Mare’s heat cycle. Alford Stables must be contacted 24 hours prior to a requested semen shipment. (48 hours prior to insemination). Cooled, semen shipments are on a first-call-first-serve basis. Alford Stables, at its discretion, may limit the number of shipments during a heat cycle.
3) Collection/Shipment is done on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule.
4) Cooled, Shipped Semen Fees: 24 Hour Shipping (FedEx) $ 60.00

Collection & Processing $100.00
5) All Equitainers/shipping containers must be returned (at the Owner’s expense) within 1 week of receipt or a $20.00/week charge will be assessed.
