Would you like to get a job at Google? I know I would. How do you get a job at Google? Are these methods fair? Well, if you apply for a job at Google they don’t look at your G.P.A or your SAT/ACT test scores. Most people who get a job at Google don’t have a college degree. Normally most people wonder if they need a college degree to get a good paying job, not at Google you don’t. If you want to work at Google; good math and computer skills are good things to have. The number one thing they look for is your learning ability. They also look for leadership roles, being responsible, having ownership and being ability to learn from your failure. Someone who is willing to learn and has up-and-coming leadership skills will work in the finance department as a H.R. Being a leader, knowing how to handle and learn from failure. Knowing how to cooperate, can adapt easily, and willing to learn is all you need to become an employee at Google (Friedman).

Winning a job at Lego shouldn’t be hard. Or is it? Actually winning a job at Lego isn’t hard at all. Lego uses a different ways of hiring. Lego doesn’t hold traditional interviews. They have a more relaxed environment. Anyone who wants a job at Lego can apply online for workshops which is once a year. That’s if only the company needs it. Most candidates go through a video chat conversation and take a test. Others are given Legos and have to come up with an idea for a new direction for Lego. This method is called “Homework”. The first day of work candidates have to show their ideas for Lego. This technique helps to break the ice a little. It also helps them show off their skills. No experience or any type of design degree is needed. Most workers are fresh out of college. Ages vary at this job, it doesn’t matter how old you are. No one is being judged on their building ability, concept, and elements. Anyone who has just been hired will work with a Lego designer for at least a year before they work on their own. Whoever gets hired starts working the next day. What a wonder way to start off your career (Hansgaard).

Should SAT/ACT test scores be a method when hiring someone? Well, during these interviews SAT is being discussed. People who go through this interview were surprised that the boss wanted to know their test scores. Big companies ask college students their test scores. Even though most companies check test scores, low scores doesn’t hurt a person’s opportunity of getting the job. Some companies’ uses test scores as background checks. SAT scores are a big factor when hiring someone. If math scores are low, other skills need to be shown. Test scores are much need for candidates right out of college. Participating in extracurricular activities is important too for candidates who recently graduated from college. The employer can also ask for college transcripts. They also want your SAT scores on your resume. When candidates are asked to show their test scores this might turn them away from the job. All these methods that used to hire someone are unfair (Korn).
