2018 Lady Panther Track & Field

A.Required Paperwork:

  1. Physical form
  2. Medical form
  3. Participation form

***These forms are a MUST HAVE before participation! The forms are good for one calendar year. If your daughter already participated in Volleyball/Basketball and has a current physical, medical, and participation form, you do not need to submit another one. More information may be found on Coach MacKay’s website (found at the end of this document).

B.Safety:

  1. Stay hydrated
  2. Wear sunscreen and protective clothing
  3. Eat properly
  4. Stretch before and after your workout and event
  5. You know your body, if you are not feeling well pull out of the workout
  6. Communicate with your coach if you are feeling bad

C.Event Coaching and Tryouts:

  1. Event Coaching and Tryouts begin on Monday, February 19.
  2. Attendance is mandatory, if you miss more than 3, you will lose eligibility for placement in an upcoming track meet.
  3. It is imperative that you attend all scheduled practices, as many events have very technical movement patterns to be learned in order to be successful
  4. Girls may choose to try-out for any event.
  5. Each event allots only 3 participant openings per track meet; these are earned by weekly try-outs during practice.

D.Eligibility:

  1. All players must have an average of 70 or above in order to participate in any athletic competition.

E.Meet times and transportation:

  1. First event starts at 4:30pm and all meets will take place at Heroes Stadium
  2. Heroes Stadium
  • 4799 Thousand Oaks San Antonio, TX 78233
  • Transportation will be provided to Heroes Stadium for meet participants only. Transportation home will be parents responsibility and may occur at the completion of your child’s event(s). Athletes, please make sure you check out with your respective coach before you leave.

F.Expectations at Meets:

  1. Athletes must sit in the stands with Lopez Coaches if you are not warming up or going to your event.
  2. Travel in pairs/with other event participants
  3. Athletes in Field Events must check-in and out with the Field Judge before leaving to other scheduled events, otherwise you may risk being disqualified
  4. Keep the area in the stands CLEAN and free of RUBBISH
  5. Make sure you have ALL of your belongings before leaving. Store your athletic attire and school supplies in a large enough bag that everything can fit in. One bag is easier to keep track of than two.
