Nominations must be received by 5:00pm Friday 24 March. CIS does not accept Late Nominations and players without submitted forms will not be permitted to trial.

NSW AllSchools Open Boys Hockey Tri – Series

This nominations form only provides access to the 16 Years & Under pathway to the NSW PSG Hockey Selection trials. Should your son wish to represent CIS at the Open level competing in the NSW All Schools Open Boys Hockey Tri-Series, they will need to be selected in their association Hockey Team i.e. AICES, CAS , GPS, ISA, NCIS or RAS. Please refer to the CIS website for details, and in the first instance contact the Head of Sport at your school regarding association trials, as Team lists and nominations will be placed by Associations online.

SELECTION INFORMATION 2017
for CIS 16 Years & Under Hockey Players trialling for NSW All Schools

The School Sport Australia, Pacific School Games will be held in

Adelaide, South Australia from December 2nd to December 9th, 2017.

Anticipated cost/levy per student will be in the range of $1000 - $1100 based on present cost factors.

ELIGIBILITY

Players must be at least 14 not attain the age of 17 during 2017 and attend a school in NSW.

SELECTION PROCEDURE / TIMELINE

1. The attached nomination form and birth certificate copy,is to be received by Friday 24th March, 2017.

2.All HNSW affiliated players over the age of 15 will be required to participate at the HNSW U/18 State Championships to be held 11th May– 14th May in Newcastlein accordance with tournament exemption protocols to be considered for the squad.

3.Athletes who attend school in NSW, and play for teams/clubs NOT affiliated with HNSW (and are not attending the HNSW U/18 State Championships) may be considered for selection based on the information from the nomination form and State Hockey personnel. These players must have gained selection to their home State Team in the previous year to be considered.

4. Players who are aged U/15 and not attending the Hockey NSW U/18 titles may be considered for selection based on the information from the nomination form and State Hockey personnel. These players must have gained selection to their home State Teamin the previous year to be considered.

5. A squad of 37 boys will be chosen to participate in the Hockey Talented Athlete Program to be held at Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeenfrom 13th – 16th June, 2017. The final team will be selected and announced at the conclusion of this event to attend the School Sport Australia Pacific School Games.

A list of students that have nominated will be posted on the website and Secondary Boys Hockey App.

COST: The $40 Nomination Fee will be invoiced via your Sports Association and School as for any other CIS Sport, at the end of Term 1.

Medical Insurance: Parents please note there is no personal injury insurance cover provided by the NSW Combined independent Schools (CIS) for students in relation to school sporting activities, physical education lessons or any other school activity. Parents and caregivers are advised to assess the level and extent of their child’s involvement in the sport program offered by the school, school sport zone, Regional and state school sport associations when deciding whether additional insurance cover, above that provided by Medicare, is required. Personal accident insurance cover is available through normal retail insurance outlets. The NSW Supplementary Sporting Injuries Benefits Scheme, funded by the NSW Government, covers any injury resulting in the permanent loss of a prescribed faculty or the use of some prescribed part of the body.
