2017 ACN Summer Fencing Camp

Foil and Epee

Fencing is an official Olympic sport that requires quickness and strength. It is a challenging and rewarding sport, both physically and mentally.

On the athletic side, speed and endurance are foremost, followed by strength, precision, and flexibility.

On the intellectual side, a good focus combined with strategy and tactics is essential.

The five day camp includes:
• Fitness training • Fencing drills • Footwork lessons
• Bouting • Games • Swimming
•All necessary fencing equipment

Camp 4: July 10 – July 14
Camp 5: July 17 – July 21
Camp 6:July 31 –August 4 / Time: 9 am to 4 pm
Early drop off and late pick up are available upon request

Coaches

Walid Mahran was a three time member of the Egyptian Olympic fencing team and has won numerous national and international competitions. Mahran also has exemplary coaching credentials; he has attended various esteemed coaching schools in Germany, Hungary, Greece, Egypt, and France. He also earned a certificate in fencing instruction from the highly respected Bordeaux Academy in Bordeaux, France.

Jenny moncada was a four time member of the Colombia National Fencing Team. She won a gold medal in the South America Championships, a bronze medal in the Pan-America Games and multiple National Championships in Colombia.

Giulia Balicchia was a member of the Italian National Fencing team for six years. She won multiple National Championships in foil, a Bronze medal in Epee Italian Championship and a Bronze medal in European Cup. She was also a referee in Italian fencing Federation.

Participating in fencing involves certain risks. The fencing coach (Mr. Walid Mahran) will not assume responsibility for any injury incurred while participating in the fencing classes given at Lotus Fencing Academy, nor will the fencing coach be liable for lost or stolen items while any student is participating in the classes.

I, the undersigned for myself, my heirs and assigns, do hereby release coaches, assistant coaches and any other personnel affiliated with the classes from any and all claims for injury, death or damage of any kind I may suffer as a result of my participation in the classes.
