A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE UPON THE PASSING OF JUDY K. JOHNSONPASLEY AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Judy K. JohnsonPasleyon Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of fifty-nine; and

Whereas, Judy was born June 14, 1957 in Charleston County to the late Mr. James G. Johnson and Mrs. Wilhelmina H. Johnson. She was the youngest of eight children; and

Whereas, Judy graduated from Burke High School in 1975, earned a bachelor’s degree from Trident Technical College, and attended Charleston Southern University. Shededicated herself to the care of others in her career as a certified nursing assistant; and

Whereas, Judy devoted her time to her two sons and taking care of family and friends. She also served the Lord in several ministries at Morris Brown AME Church; and

Whereas, Judy was a loving person and full of life. She enjoyed dancing, singing, going to church, and spending time with family and friends; and

Whereas, Judy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary E. Brown and Margaret J. Hamilton; and brothers, James C Johnson and Earl F. Johnson; and

Whereas, Judy leaves to cherish her memories her sons, John A Pasley Jr. and Jevan A Pasley; siblings, Francenia McCutcheon, Barbara Ann Johnson (Roy Lee), and Elaine Rambert; devoted daughter-in-law, Terry DaisPasley; sisters-in-law, Nellie Mae Simpkins, Janice PasleyBrown (Samuel), and Rev. Annie Green; brothers-in-law, Richard Staggers (Mona Lisa) and Rev. Marvin Pasley (Marietta); grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. She will be missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Judy K. JohnsonPasley and extend their deepest sympathy to her family and many friends.
