Position: Adult Education Lead Area Teacher Evenings
Location: This position will be based at the WGTC Douglas campus and will be responsible for supervising Adult Education classes in Douglas County. This position will also participate in related activities within this geographic region in terms of outreach, promotion and support of Adult Education classes.

Nature of Duties:The Lead Instructor role is to ensure high quality programming and instruction, and adherence to college and state protocols and policies. The Lead Instructor supports program efforts toward the achievement of performance outcomes as they perform day-to-day duties which include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching 12-14 hours per week: classroom instruction in a single, home-base classroom, (30% of work week) and all associated instructional prep and student record/folder maintenance associated with the class.
- Supervising data entry processes and personnel to ensure protocols are followed, data entry is timely, and data quality/integrity remain high.
- Supervising part-time instructors within designated program areas, routinely visiting classroom sites, including those that are off campus. Approving weekly timesheets for part-time staff and monitoring schedules. Assisting with coordination of substitutes.
- Providing technical assistance to part-time instructors in support of achievement of performance benchmarks, including review of student folders, observation of classroom instructional strategies, coaching/modeling effective instructional strategies.
- Communicating important information to part-time staff, such as policy changes, program issues, training dates, reporting dates.
- Working in partnership with the Transition team staff to coordinate and support site orientations and registrations.
- Supporting implementation of new program initiatives, such as curriculum changes, policy or procedural changes, or instructional innovations.
- Reporting on site needs relative to facilities or materials needs.
- Participating in the coordination and training of part-time staff within designated program areas.
- Participating in student recruitment and community outreach activities.
- Reviewing all incoming student testing scores to determine placement. Supporting distance learning and transition activities.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must have a 4-year degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four or more years of experience working in Adult Basic Education/GED preparation programs.
- A current secondary teaching certificate and/or secondary teaching experience.
- Experience in curriculum development and/or instructional design.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of Adult Education curriculum materials and assessment instruments.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and proven ability to work in partnership with others.
- Experience in a managerial capacity.
