2016 UNCONVENTIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Award: $1000 towards tuition, books, and/or housing and 1 free admission to MANS State Convention.

Description: This scholarship is intended for students entering into a second degree program or students who are greater than 25 years old.

Qualifications:

  1. Candidate must be currently enrolled in an entry level registered nurse (RN) program in the state of Maryland.
  2. Candidate must have a minimal 3.0 GPA.
  3. Candidate must be a current member of NSNA.
  4. Candidate must be over the age of 25 or in a second degree program.

All of the following must accompany your application at the time of submission. All transcripts and letters of recommendation must be submitted in a sealed envelope:

  1. Official transcript(s) from an accredited School of Nursing in the state of Maryland.
  2. Typed responses to two (2) essay questions.
  3. Two (2) letters of recommendation (one from applicant's school of nursing and/or from the school chapter of NSNA.)
  4. Copy of NSNA card.
  5. Copy of personal resume noting your education, organization memberships, leadership positions, work experience, and community/volunteer experience.
  6. Additional items to accompany the application in support of the candidates’ eligibility and desirability may include documented evidence of:
  7. Participation in student nurse activities and/or
  8. Involvement in the school chapter of NSNA, i.e., letters, news clippings, awards, certificates, etc.
  9. Copy of previously earned degrees
  10. Copy of birth certificate
