2016 UNCONVENTIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Award: $1000 towards tuition, books, and/or housing and 1 free admission to MANS State Convention.
Description: This scholarship is intended for students entering into a second degree program or students who are greater than 25 years old.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be currently enrolled in an entry level registered nurse (RN) program in the state of Maryland.
- Candidate must have a minimal 3.0 GPA.
- Candidate must be a current member of NSNA.
- Candidate must be over the age of 25 or in a second degree program.
All of the following must accompany your application at the time of submission. All transcripts and letters of recommendation must be submitted in a sealed envelope:
- Official transcript(s) from an accredited School of Nursing in the state of Maryland.
- Typed responses to two (2) essay questions.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation (one from applicant's school of nursing and/or from the school chapter of NSNA.)
- Copy of NSNA card.
- Copy of personal resume noting your education, organization memberships, leadership positions, work experience, and community/volunteer experience.
- Additional items to accompany the application in support of the candidates’ eligibility and desirability may include documented evidence of:
- Participation in student nurse activities and/or
- Involvement in the school chapter of NSNA, i.e., letters, news clippings, awards, certificates, etc.
- Copy of previously earned degrees
- Copy of birth certificate
