Location: Shasta District Fairgrounds, Fusaro Hall

This is the standard Licensed Timber Operators Training class provided by CalFire, which is typically offered three times a year in various locations. The class consists of two (2) eight-hour days. Attendance of both class sessions is mandatory. Class materials provided will be 3-hole punched. Please bring a binder in addition to writing utensils, highlighter’s, and post-it notes.

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – “Fireline Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors”

Location: Shasta District Fairgrounds, Ferrari Hall

This safety training class will allow attendees to receive an “Interagency Emergency Equipment Operator Card” issued by CalFire and US Forest Service through the State Fire Marshalls Office. When properly equipped, persons with the “Vendor Card” can work on fires under CalFire or Forest Service command.

Instructor’s: Tom Fields, Fire Science Instructor with Shasta-Trinity Regional Occupation Program and Assistant Chief, Palo Cedro Fire Department. Gary Lyons, retired Battalion Chief, CalFire. Class size limited to 40 students. Hot lunch will be provided.
