  • West Manor gains Platinum recognition in the 2015 Governor's Shape Honor Roll. This award recognizes your dedication to creating a healthy school environment and a culture of wellness for staff, students, and community.
  • West Manor Instructional Coach conducts training for literacy during pre-planning
  • Coach Riley/ West Manor certified for the National First Tee Program
  • West Manor partners with Georgia Tech Computer Science Department (students come and assist with Robotics club)
  • Teacher, Jennifer Graham won the Symetra Heroes in the Classroom award and received $1,000 donation to the school ,Two tickets to a Falcons home game, VIP sideline access at the game

  • West Manor kicked off a partnership with the Greenhouse Foundation & Captain Planet to assist the Garden Club and implement an environmental curriculum
  • Tim Pirtle accepted into the Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign
  • Mrs. Virden served on a district focus group for Early Learning Initiative
  • Ms. Vivian Brown from the “Holiday Inn and Suites Atlanta Airport North came to West Manor to talk to our Etiquette Club members about how to set a formal place setting.
  • On Saturday, November 7, West Manor’s 3rd grade team won first place in the GA TechCollege of Computing WeDo Storytelling Competition. The students chose WeDo characters, made up a short story involving the WeDo characters, built and programmed the characters to act out the story, built props and presented to GA Tech staff and students, as well as, their partner, Career Builders.
  • Johnson & Johnson recognized West Manor as the top performer with Activity Works. A program to implement more physical activity into the school day.

  • Mrs. Furgurson & Mrs. Belcher invited to attend Atlanta’s 2nd Annual Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers (ECET2) event.
  • Robotics teams November 14, 2015 the FLL teams will participate in the Wheeler HS
  • West Manor tied for the most Gold Key winners at the District Science Fair and had two additional Silver Key winners.
  • West Manor had the overall winner for the Science and Engineering Fair (D. West) and the overall 3rd place winner (M. Garnett)
  • West Manor had one 2nd place and two 3rd place winners in the district Technology Fair
  • 2 West Manor Teacher serve on standards based item bank committee (Pirtle/Hodge)
  • C. Anderson host Stem-tastic at Parent University
