RACE 1 – GAZZMANS ST HELENS – 1810 METRES

The start of this event was delayed by four minutes due to an issue with the photo finish camera.

Prior to the all-clear being given for this event stewards ordered a hold on all tickets in order to view the start of the event. After doing so it was established that the starting tape released contacted the legs of FLYLIKA HAWK interfering with that runner. Stewards then declared FLYLIKA HAWK a non-runner with wagers on the gelding to be refunded with betting deductions of $0.23 cents in the win dollar and $0.18 cents in the place dollar.

GRAND PASSION raced rough after the start.

LUKE THOMAS raced rough after the start.

CHARLIE CHARLIE stood flat footed before then galloping out and tailing the field. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events.

Stewards inquired into the reasons for LUKE PETER NZ breaking passing the 400 metres when racing on the back of LUKE THOMAS. After taking evidence from drivers Nathan Ford (LUKE PETER NZ) and Dylan Ford (LUKE THOMAS), driver Nathan Ford was found guilty of a charge under AR 168(1) careless driving. Mr Ford was fined the sum of $100.

RACE 2 – PROMPT ELECTRICAL – 1810 METRES

The start of this event was also delayed due to an issue with the photo finish camera.

BILLY KHAN broke passing the 1000 metres. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and until the completion of two satisfactory trials.

Approaching the home turn TOP WINDY stumbled and as a result TOUCHWOOD LUVSTA was severely checked and fell. Driver Clinton Woods was examined by the on course ambulance offices and pronounced fit to continue his driving engagements. TOUCHWOOD LUVSTA underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling and was found to be uninjured. Connections have been advised that TOP WINDY has been placed on its last chance to race truly. BILLY KHAN was checked during the incident, LE WI BULENT was also checked and forced wide and SLEEPLY BOY was inconvenienced. Driver Allister Woods (TOP WINDY) was reprimanded under AR 168(1) for his lack of control.

RACE 3 – ST HELENS MITRE 10 – 1810 METRES

Due to the fall on the home turn in Race 2 a small section of turf was damaged by the sulky shaft of the fallen horse and repair works were carried out before Stewards inspected the track. Runners for Race 3 were held in the parade ring until Stewards were satisfied with the track. This contributed to a delay in this race being started which was exacerbated by an interstate gallops race running behind schedule.

CITY BABE and PADDY’S ACE both raced rough after the start.

HIGHFLIN FRED galloped out and was placed on its last chance in the draw.

PRETTYBOYTROY raced rough passing the 500 metres.

RACE 4 – BULLOCK CONSULTING COUNTRY GUINEAS – 1810 METRES

Due to the delays of earlier races the start of this event was rescheduled to 5:55pm.

LORRAINE GRANT which galloped out has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future standing start events.

SANTANNA NIGHT raced rough after the start.

PUNTER KARALTA stood flat footed before galloping out and then continuing to gallop for a considerable distance. The gelding then tailed the field for the remainder of the event. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events.

RACE 5 – BEACHFRONT BICHENO – 2685 METRES

Due to the delays of earlier races the start of this event was rescheduled to 6:15pm.

MACH MY DAY which galloped out has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future standing start events.

DIEBERDEVIL contacted two marker pegs passing the 600 metres.

COOL WHARTON which broke after the start has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future standing start events.

MICKWILLREV which swung sideways at the start before then being slowly away will continue to be placed out of the draw in future standing start events.MUSSELROE BAY was inconvenienced after the start as a consequence.

RACE 6 – LAUNCESTON MAZDA – 2685 METRES

ME MATE LES which swung sideways at the start has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events.

SUPERSUB NZ broke after the start and then shifted out after the start checking GAVRAIL which was forced wide. SUPERSUB NZ has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events.

REMEMBERPREECE raced rough after the start and as a result WILLIE WINALOT which trailed that gelding out was inconvenienced after the start and broke. WILLIE WINALOT then pulled hard whilst racing in a trailing position.

HELLO GOOD SHANKS raced rough after the start.

The all clear for this event was delayed when driver John Walters(KARALTA DAZZLER) asked to view the photo finish. After doing so Mr Walters was satisfied and all clear was given on the judge’s numbers.

RACE 7 – HARRIS FUNERALS – 1810 METRES

MIGHTY JASPER raced rough after the start.

ODINS CALL GIRL raced rough after the start.

JAZZY JANE which galloped out has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future standing start events.

TOUCHWOOD TEEKSTA was fractious before the start and then reared before standing flat footed and then trailed the field throughout. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events.

HELEN WHEELS was inconvenienced after the start when TOUCHWOOD TEEKSTA stood flat footed.

RACE 8 – SOUTHERN CROSS ST MARYS CUP – 2685 METRES

Pre-race swab samples were taken from all runners in this event.

GLENWOOD JASPER raced rough after the start

SALOON IN SIGHT which broke after the start has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future standing start events.

MISTER PINJARRA which broke passing the 2200 metres has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

CATS AND DOGS was checked as a result of MISTER PINJARRA breaking.

BLENDED FAMILY which was fractious before the start and then reared and swung sideways before the start will continue to be placed out of the draw for future standing start events. BLENDED FAMILY underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to have a hematoma on its near side neck which was sustained when pre-race blood samples were taken. Connections were advised that the gelding has been stood down from racing pending a veterinary certificate of fitness to race.

BABES BOY BOB NZ pulled hard whilst racing outside the leader.

On the home turn the right foot of driver Zeke Slater (BLENDED FAMILY) momentarily slipped from the sulky footrest. Early in the home straight his left foot also came out of the footrest momentarily.

Post-race swab samples were taken from BLACK CENTURIAN the winner of the event.
