v  The Indianola YMCA Pool is a 8 lane, 25 yard pool, electronic timing system with horn start.

Parking

v  Parking is available in the Indianola YMCA parking lot.

Sectional Meet Entries

v  Your entries must be received by noon Tuesday, February 10th. Please email your entries to Kim Furbush , Tiffany AND Please CC Lydia Clark executive committee member -with a copy of the meet file and PDF. This will be used to verify eligibility and payment for your sectional entries.

v  PLEASE send entries in sd3 or zip format.

v  After entries are received and entered, each team will be sent a file of your entries to be double checked by noon on Wednesday, February 11th. If you would like to have more time to review your entries, than please send them before February 6th.

v  Tiffany needs a team roster excel file listed by swimmers’ name (separate column for first and last). The excel file is for the shirt vendor to add each swimmers name to the shirts. This is due February 6th. I submit my entire team regardless of whether or not they are swimming sectionals. They are part of the team and should be recognized. send to

Meet Timeline

v  Doors open at 7:45 a.m.

·  8:00-9:45 Warm ups for all teams (I will assign lanes and a time once I receive entries for each team.)

·  8:45am - Scratch meeting for all coaches will be held in the conference room of the Administrative office area. Scratch sheets will be filled out ahead of the meeting.

·  9:15am – Officials Meeting (administrative area behind front desk)

·  9:30am – Timer Meeting (administrative area behind front desk

·  9:55am – National Anthem

·  10:00am – Meet will begin!

v  Starts with sprints will be done the last 5 minutes of each warm up

Coaches Information

v  Check in will be in the pool meet management balcony.

·  Please remember to bring a photo ID and your Championship Meet Deck Pass from Y-USA to receive your coaches’ packets with Sectional Meet deck pass

·  Coaches ONLY area is located on the East side of the pool

§  Only coaches with deck passes will be allowed in this area

·  Coaches will NOT be allowed behind the starting blocks

·  Please let Tom know at how many certified coaches from your team will be attending

v  Coaches’ Hospitality Room will be in the Conference Room and First Aid Station is located at the Southeast corner of the deck

Timers Meeting

v  ALL teams are responsible for providing 2 timers for one lane for the entire day. You may create your own timers’ schedule for your assigned lane, but there MUST BE at least one certified Level 1 or 2 timer in your lane at ALL times. For all 25 yard events a 3rd timer is needed.

v  Please email your list of timers to Tiffany Scovel at: by Wednesday, February 11th. Please include which timers are certified Level 1 or 2 officials.

Clerk of Course

v  We will have a modified clerk of course. Swimmers will walk to the pool by following the black mats from the gym down the hall to the NE of the pool. Parents volunteers will be in the back hallway and on the pool deck helping swimmers get behind the blocks.

v  Swimmers will exit the pool area along the east side of the pool through the South pool doors and through the locker rooms to return to their camp area.

v  Event numbers will be posted in the pool, hallway outside locker rooms and in the Gym-Swimmers Camp area. The swimmers are responsible for getting themselves to Clerk of Course on time.

v  It will be very helpful to have a designated team parent/coach accompany your 8 and under relay teams to clerk of course and help line them up and stay with them in the shallow end during their relay races.

Swimmers’ Camp Area

v  Each team will have a designated team camp area in the Gym.

v  Coolers and parents’ belongings may be stored in this area.

v  It is recommended that there be a parent from each team in your team camp area at all times if possible.

v  Team Camps must be cleaned up (Gym and locker room) before the coach can pick up team awards.

Spectator Seating

v  Seating is available in the pool area.

v  Swimmers who are NOT currently swimming will NOT be allowed in the spectator seating areas.

v  NO coolers or coats are allowed in the spectator seating. Please keep these items in your camp area to allow more room for everyone to watch the competition.

NO FOOD OR GLASS in the pool area! Try to keep all food and drink in the concession stand area and swimmers camp area.

Swimmers/Parents Information

v  No shaving at the meet site! This is a health and safety issue. Swimmers shaving at the meet site will be disqualified from the meet.

v  No running! The floors get wet and slippery.

Swimmers are expected to wear flip flops, crocs, or some type of deck sandal at all times. This is to increase the safety not only for the swimmers from falling, but also for our older parent/grandparent spectators. Plus it is just good common sense!

v  Lockers are for changing and showers only and as a pass thru to and from the pool. They are NOT a play area.

The upstairs of the YMCA are OFF LIMITS to swimmers

If any swimmer is caught upstairs, WILL BE disqualified for the rest of the day!

Sectional T-Shirts

v  We will have personalized swim and sectional apparel available in the front lobby the entire meet. Coaches are responsible for giving the team names in excel format by the 6th in ensure your swimmers names are available.

Concessions

v  Located in the community room. You can enter the room from the front lobby or walkway between pools

v  Serving both breakfast and lunch items.

v  Meet Programs will be available for sale at the concession stand

Swim Merchandise

v  We anticipate securing a vendor who will offer a limited supply of swim merchandise.
