CVC OF ATLANTA ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR 19TH ANNUAL IMPACT AWARDS

2016 Awards Celebrate Excellence in Corporate Volunteerism and Civic Engagement in Six Categories

ATLANTA – July 6, 2016 – The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta (CVC) is has extended its nomination period for the 19th Annual IMPACT Awards. Both CVC of Atlanta member and non-member companies are invited to apply. Awards will be given to for-profit companies, businesses or firms that recruit and activate volunteers to serve the Atlanta community and/or exclusively utilize Atlanta-based volunteer resources. The new deadline to submit applications isTuesday, July 12 at 5 p.m. EST.

“The CVC of Atlanta’s IMPACT Awards provide a great platform for companies and nonprofits to showcase their commitment to the communities they serve,” said Cheryl Kortemeier, executive director of the CVC of Atlanta. “The Atlanta business and civic community continues to be a national model for thoughtful civic engagement that positively impacts change. This is our way of celebrating their accomplishments and shining the light on all that they do.”

Nominations may be made by companies, non-profit organizations or government entities in the Atlanta area, however, the nominated company, business or firm must approve the nomination before it is submitted. The 2016 IMPACT Award categories include the following:

  • IMPACT Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year

(Two awards based on company size: small-to-medium businesses and large businesses)

  • Business-to-Business Partnership IMPACT Award
  • Business-to-Nonprofit Partnership IMPACT Award
  • Skills-Based Volunteerism IMPACT Award
  • Project IMPACT Award

The IMPACT Awards program is the only Atlanta eventthat honors and recognizes outstanding businesses that demonstrate leadership in addressing the needs of metro-Atlanta communities through thoughtful community engagement. This year’s program is presented by Diamond Level Sponsor,The Home Depot Foundation.

Finalists will be announced by the CVC of Atlanta in August and recognized at the 19th Annual IMPACT Awards program on Monday, Sept. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.at Atlanta’s Woodruff Arts Center.
