VRHS TRACK AND FIELD 2014…

AMBITION!

Vista Ridge Wolves

2014 Boys and Girls Track & Field

Dear Athlete,

This notebook was compiled to assist you so that you fully understand the philosophies, rules, requirements, and policies of our Boys and Girls Track & Field programs. It is important that you know what is expected of you as a track and field athlete here at Vista Ridge.

Dedication involves many things. It involves foremost the belief in Track and Fieldat Vista Ridge. We are striving for team championships as well as developing citizens of character, class and work ethic.

There is no short cut to success. The dedicated athlete is:

  • The athlete that reports in shape.
  • The athlete that trains in the summer.
  • The athlete who attends class every day and believes in education aswell as athletics.
  • The athlete who understands humility.
  • The athlete who understands loyalty to his/her teammates and coaches.
  • The athlete who believes in the training rules.
  • The athlete who does not criticize others for shortcomings.

We believe in “practice”, as it involves squad unity and morale. You practice like you compete. If you need to be excused from practice notify your event coach and the head coach.

We believe in punctuality and the importance of a time schedule. Practice time means dressed, on the track and prepared for warm-ups at that time.

Problems are going to arise that may give you concern. -- “The coach’s door isalways open,” and this is where they should be solved. -- “We counsel in theoffice, we coach on the field.”

Team morale is of the utmost concern by your coaches. We are concerned in“what you think” and we put squad interest first, always. Complaining andcriticism breaks down team morale and the place to complain is to the head coach. Remember, we are part of the solution, not the problem.

Let’s have a GREAT season of AMBITION!
