BSGSA General Meeting Minutes (June 16th, 2014)
Duration of the meeting:12:00-12:45pm
Number of attendees:total 20 attendees (11 at Lake Nona campus and 09 at main campus)
Opening: SwaranNandiniprepared the pptwhich included an announcement for newly instated BSGSA officers and elected committes. New BSGSA initiative and the camping tripdetails were also discussed!Unfortunately, simulcast between BBS 103 and HPA II 345 was not working during this meeting.
Points Discussed were:
1)Review of the 2014 election process.
- The first round of elections that were held was unconstitutional, and therefore was determined to be nullified. More meetings were held to increase the number of members that could be classified as “active members”. This was done to ensure that all members who were interested in running for office had a fair chance. Elections were then re-held.
2)Results of 2014-2015 Elected Officers:

4)2014-2015 BSGSA Vision
- Have more career talks, professional development workshops, and more CRI based events.
5) New BSGSA initiatives
- “Networking” cards:
- Price:$15 per pack of 50 (16pt thickness).
- Options that are included: Shape can either be square or rounded. The rounded will have a $3 up charge. Texture can either be Matte or glossy. Thickness can either be 16pt or 32pt. The 32 pt will have a $10 upcharge and does not come in rounded corners.
- All dues paying BSGSA members who are PhD candidate status or masters who pass their proposal, and those who have completed their masters at UCF and are now currently in the PhD program may receive FREE cards courtesy of the COM.
- Email Brian Down at BDow @knights.ucf.edu for any questions about the cards or to know if you are eligible for discounts.
- Payment is due by June 30th, 2014
- BSBS polo shirt:
- Moisture wicking, high quality, 100% polyester polo shirts. Comes in many different colors with black or gold embroidery of UCF COM BSBS logo. Pink color shirt is now offered for women! $31.50 cash and checks are accepted. Payment is due by June 30th 2014.

6)BSGSA Camping: This weekend (June 21st-22nd) starting from 3pm onwards. This is an exciting event free for all due paying members, and members are allowed to bring guests. This is a first come first serve basis, so RSVP now!
- Pre-camp meeting was not be held after the meeting today as planned because we were having difficulties with the simulcast. Pre-camp meeting will be held online.
7)BSBS Faculty vs. Student kickball event information will be presented at the next general meeting.
