ENTRY FEE (NON-REFUNDABLE) R140-00(This fee includes the R10.00 SA Schools Squash Tournament Levy applicable to all tournaments in SA.)

This is a Compulsory FS Schools Squash qualifying event for all age groups –

i.e. Under 11, 13 14, 16 & 19 Age Groups

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

LOCAL PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ASSIST WITH AT LEAST ONE SESSION OF SUPERVISION AT THE COURTS DURING THIS TOURNAMENT. PLEASE INDICATE YOUR TIME SLOT PREFERENCES ON YOUR CHILD’S ENTRY FORM (You will be contacted to confirm times assist with these duties via email – you will only do duties where your child/children are playing.)

1.FORMAT

As far as possible, all events will be played on the SWISS PAIRING/ROUND ROBIN basis in

order to give players the maximum number of matches, irrespective of whether they win or lose.

For Under 14, 16 & 19: All matches will be played PAR (point a rally) to 11. Should the score reach 10 all a player needs to win by 2 clear points. (The High Altitude Ball will be used.)

For Under 11 and 13: All matches will be played PAR (point a rally) to 15. Should the score reach 14 all a player needs to win by 2 clear points. (The Dunlop Double Dot Ball will be used.)

NB!!LOCAL PARENTS ARE ASKED TO ASSIST WITH AT LEAST ONE SESSION OF SUPERVISION AT THE COURTS DURING THIS TOURNAMENT.

2.Playing times and Registration

Girls

All girls participating in the tournament are expected to arrive and register at their playing venues : NB!! Play will commence at 15h30 on 1February 2013at various venuesRegistration will take place at the playing venues. (Depending on the number of entries, the time to commence play is subject to change. Players will be informed via email of registration details and playing venues once the final entries have been received.)

BOYS

Due to the St Andrew’s School 150th celebration year launch function clashing with the SFS Closed event, the tournament times will differ slightly for the boys. Depending on the number of entries, the first rounds in some age groups will be played on Thursday afternoon, 31 January 2013. The event will then continue on Saturday morning, 2 February 2013 through to Sunday afternoon 3 February 2013. Players will be informed via email of registration details and venues and playing venues once the final entries have been received.

3.All players need to make themselves available for the entire duration of thetournament. The event will end at 17h00 (latest) on Sunday, 3February 2013. Some (OR ALL) age groups may well end on Saturday evening. (e.g. Under 11/13/14 girls draws – this depends on the number of entries.)

4.ALL PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO MARK OR REFEREE THE MATCH FOLLOWING THEIRS. The proposal is that Winners are to referee and Losers to Mark. (FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE TOURNAMENT.)

5.Players will abide by SA Squash and Free State Squash rules. In all cases the Tournament Referee’s decision will be final.

6.ALL players are to ensure that they are at the courts and ready to play ONE HOUR beforethe scheduled time of their match. Players who arrive later than 15 minutes after the scheduled time of play run the risk of conceding the match. (A FOLLOW-on system of times will apply and players will be expected to go onto court IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE MATCH PRIOR TO THEIR’S is completed. The time on the draws are therefore only a guide.

7.As far as is possible, times of first rounds will be emailed to players by Tuesday 29 January 2013 for the boys and by Wednesday 30January at 19h00 for the girls draws. (i.e. provided you have supplied us with an accurate email address.) Draws will also be published on the Squash events website, however please note that these will be subject to change in the event of late withdrawals as this is a provincial selection tournament.

8.CLOTHING
Players must wear clothing suitable for squash as per Squash SA and WSF regulations.

9.PLAYER WITHDRAWAL

Withdrawal from the tournament must be notified to Squash Events as soon as possible by telephone or email with a valid reason. The reason for withdrawal should then be confirmed in writing to Squash Events within 24 hours and in the event of illness or injury, should be accompanied by a medical certificate.

Non-arrivals who do not notify Squash Events will NOT be allowed to enter the 2013 Bloemfontein Junior Open, the FS Closed event for 2013 or the SFS Closed Events in 2014.

10.Players enter and play in the SFS Closed Event for 2013 at their own risk. SA Schools Squash and Squash SA, the organizers and any of the venues at which squash will be played, will not accept responsibility for any injury arising from participating in the tournament. Protective Eyewear is compulsory when competing during the event (including during the knock-up).

11.Players will abide by SA Schools and Squash SA rules. In all cases the Tournament Referee’s decision will be final. (Tournament Referees: Calvin Deutschmann and Margo Morgan.)

12.ANTI DOPING

By entering the Tournament you agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations governing the Championship and declare that you are aware of the Anti-Doping regulations and procedures as set out in Section E and Appendix G of the WSF World Championship Regulations. You accept that you may be dope tested under these regulations at any stage of the Championship and will be subject to the penalties set out in the World Championship Regulations if the test(s) prove positive. This declaration also covers participation in Plate events as applicable to this Championship.

13.Players who do not attend the Prize-giving will forfeit their prizes in the event of sponsors being present and requesting players to be present.
