CLASS FORMAT
Fortnightly videoconferencing, 40mins each, 20mins AUS and 20mins HKG. The Videoconferencing (VC) sessions are held fortnight for 40mins. The class time is split into two; The AUS side takes care of the first 20mins, and the HKG side takes care of the other 20mins.
Power Point slides. Power Point slides must have pictures and/or visual images, and keywords/phrases/sentences, which can enhance communication between Australian and HK Chinese students. PPt slides must be sent to the partner school teacherat least the day before the VC class.
Interactivity. Interactivity is the key to successful VC. Students' exchange of questions, Quiz game, and engaging activities will make videoconferencing sessions successful. Long presentations are rather less effective. Activities can be: teaching Australian and HK Chinese folksongs, demonstrating some sports, Quiz game after landmark presentations.
