A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE PATRICIA F. “PATTI” HUDSON OF CONWAY UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HER FOR HER THIRTYTHREE YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS AN EDUCATOR, AND TO WISH HER MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina General Assembly honors those individuals who give tirelessly of themselves to the welfare of this great state’s most important legacy, its children; and
Whereas, Patricia F. “Patti” Hudson of Conway, retiring after thirtythree fruitful years as a classroom teacher, stands among their number as an outstanding public benefactor, one much admired in her role as both educator and mentor to young teachers; and
Whereas, Patti received her teacher training at USCCoastal Carolina College (now Coastal Carolina University), graduating in the Class of 1979 with a major in early childhood education; and
Whereas, thirtythree years ago, an eager firstyear teacher, she began her work as an educator teaching second grade at Conway Elementary School, where she served for seven years. In June 2013, at Pee Dee Elementary School, where she has taught second grade for twentysix years, Patti Hudson will conclude an honored public school teaching career; and
Whereas, long acknowledged as a master teacher, Patti has mentored numerous Coastal Carolina University students over the years through the students’ required internships. Many of these young people have become fulltime teachers themselves; and
Whereas, during Patti’s wellearned retirement, the Senate trusts she will find herself more frequently able to indulge in spending time at the beach, photographing favorite scenes, and enjoying the company of her grandson; and
Whereas, having set the bar of achievement high in her profession, Patti Hudson will be remembered upon her retirement with affection and gratitude by colleagues, students, parents, and legislative friends for years to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Patricia F. “Patti” Hudson of Conway upon the occasion of her retirement, commend her for her thirtythree years of dedicated service as an educator, and wish her much happiness and fulfillment in all her future endeavors.
