RACE 1 – THE ADAM BROOKS GROUP PACE – 1930 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from MODERN LEGEND and GRINIFYOUDARE.
No racing incidents occurred during the event.
RACE 2 – ROBERTS RURAL STAKES – 2297 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from METROLIZA and ABSOLUTE CLASSIC NZ.
ABSOLUTE CLASSIC NZ hung in in the score up.
DOYOUSEEWHATISEE hung in in the middle stages of the event.
RAINBOW OF COLOURS pulled hard throughout the event.
MAJESTIC ART and WHO CARES NOT ME were held for a clear run in the home straight.
RACE 3 – CENTRE NEWSAGENCY PACE – 2286 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from STORYM TARA NZ and LIVIA DEGEROLSTEIN.
KINDA TAZ and MOD VISAGE galloped out at the start. Connections have been advised that both geldings have been placed on their last chance in the standing start draw.
LIVIA DEGEROLSTEIN stood flat footed at the start. Connections have been advised that the mare has been placed on her last chance in the standing start draw.
THE JOUSTER galloped out at the start. Connections have been advised that the horse will be placed outside the draw in future standing start events.
THE JOUSTER pulled hard throughout.
MUSSELROE BAY and HARLEKEN WIZED were held up for a clear run in the home straight.
RACE 4 – TATTSBET.COM PACE – 2297 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from THE FAMILY GUY and TERRORCAM.
ONE TOUGH REIGN NZ hung in shortly after the start.
THE FAMILY GUY,SEVEN DIAMONDS and TERRORCAM all pulled hard throughout the event.
Entering the home straight to receive the bell TERRORCAM hung in, contacted marker pegs then raced roughly for a short distance.
THE FAMILY GUY was held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight before obtaining a clear run.
Post race swab samples were taken from POKER STORM the winner of the event.
On the first turn KIWI JOE (Kristy Grant), which was racing three wide obtained a position in the one out line. After taking evidence from both drivers it was established that KIWI JOE had moved from the three wide line to a position in front of MAJOR RULER (James Johnson), resulting in MAJOR RULER having to be restrained for a short distance. It was also noted that the pace slackened as Ms Grant was moving to the one out line. Ms Grant was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of rule AR 163(a) and reminded to ensure that she is sufficiently clear when crossing.
RACE 5 – BOXING NIGHT AT DHRC – 2297 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from SHARDONS MAGIC NZ and BABES BOY BOB NZ.
PRETTYBOYTOBY and PACQUIAO underwent pre race veterinary examinations as both geldings competed at the Launceston Pacing Club meeting on Sunday, 15th November 2013, both geldings were passed fit to start.
Trainer/driver Zeke Slater informed stewards on arrival at the track that he would be indisposed for his drive tonight on BABES BOY BOB NZ and advised that Andrew Arnott was the replacement driver.
Passing the 400 metres GRAND PASSION was held up and inconvenienced behind the tiring PRETTYBOYTOBY and then by the tiring BOY FROM IPANEMA.
SHARDONS MAGIC NZ, BOY FROM IPANEMA and PRETTYBOYTOBY tired over the concluding stages.
Post race swab samples were taken from BABES BOY BOB NZ the winner of the event.
Driver Melissa Maine (PRETTYBOYTOBY) which raced three wide throughout explained that after showing gate speed it was then her intention to work forward to the position outside the leader. When unable to cross BOY FROM IPANEMA Ms Maine’s then attempted to restrain to the tail of the field, however the gelding was reluctant to ease and as a result Ms Maine felt it was her best option to stay three wide and try to rate the gelding throughout the event. Ms Maine further stated that given the circumstances she was not disappointed in the gelding’s performance. PRETTYBOYTOBY tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 44 metres. Stewards noted Ms Maine’s explanation.
BABES BOY BOB NZ sustained a laceration to its near fore knee during the running of the event and was examined by the course veterinarian. Trainer Zeke Slater was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced before the gelding is able to race again.
RACE 6 – DON PECK TRIBUTE – 1930 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from ALMONDINE GEM and HELEN WHEELS.
Driver Steven Davis (HOT SHOT LADY) was fined the sum of $100 pursuant to rule AR 162(1)(y) for failing to meet the required sectional times in this event.
Driver John Walter (SOHO KNIGHTLEY) was issued with a reprimand under rule AR 156(3)(b) for his excessive whip action.
Post race swab samples were taken from SOHO KNIGHTLEY the winner of the event.
RACE 7 – BIG BARGAIN BOTTLESHOP CLAIMER – 2286 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from CATS AND DOGS and CRUISIN FELLA.
DIEBERDEVIL underwent a pre race veterinary examination as the gelding competed at the Launceston Pacing Club meeting on Sunday, 15th November 2013. The gelding was passed fit to start.
DIEBERDEVIL broke after the start. Connections have been advised that the gelding will be drawn outside the draw in future standing start events.
BRIAN BUSTER BROWN broke after the start. Connections have been advised that the gelding will continue to be placed outside the draw in future standing start events.
Approaching the winning post on the second occasion DIEBERDEVIL broke free of interference and was retired from the event by driver John Walters. Subsequent to the event Mr Walters stated that after the gelding had broken for a second time he was of the view that something was amiss and he retired the gelding accordingly. DIEBERDEVIL underwent a post race veterinary examinationwith no obvious abnormalities reported. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been stood down from racing for a period of 10 days and until the completion of a satisfactory trial and that the gelding is now on its last chance in the draw in future standing start events.
BRIAN BUSTER BROWN was held up for clear racing room in the home straight.
RACE 8 – IMPRESSPRINT PACE – 2297 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from KARALTA DAZZLER and MY KODA KASPER.
KARALTA DAZZLER hung in in the score up.
I AM MISTER RED pulled hard throughout the event.
JIVE KICKS was held up for a run on the latter stages of the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
Post race swab samples were taken from I AM MISTER RED the winner of the event.
