RACE 1 – LIGHT HARNESS TASMANIA STAKES DIVISION ONE – 2090 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from LIZA A WITH A Z NZ.
Acting on a confirmed telephone call from trainer Mr Rodney Ashwood who advised that BROADBAND was lame due to a foot abscess, stewards ordered the geldings withdrawal at 11:30am. BROADBAND has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days.
ANINCHOFHISLIFE paced roughly and then broke passing the 800 metres when moving to the three wide line. Connections were advised that ANINCHOFHISLIFE has been stood down for a period of 10 days and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
RACE 2 – ELDERSLIE HORSE CARE AND SPELLING – 2090 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from CALAMITY KATIE.
CALAMITY KATIE hung in when racing three wide at the 1400 metres.
TERROR JONES hung in from the 500 metres, jostling with RHINESTONE COWGIRL at the 450 metres as RHINESTONE COWGIRL was attempting to gain a run in the three wide line. RHINESTONE COWGIRL was consequently held up for a short distance.
FLASHY ICON commenced to tire from the 400 metres.
RACE 3 – TATTSBET THREE YEAR OLD – 1609 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from LE PREMIERE.
LE PREMIERE momentarily paced roughly racing into the first turn and as a result ATOMBOB NZ and VANDE VELDE were slightly inconvenienced. Shortly after BUMBLE DON, which was racing three wide,momentarily paced roughly.
PODARKES and ATOMBOB NZ both contacted marker pegs racing into the home straight on the first occasion
HOT SHOT LADY commenced to tire from the 500 metres and LA PREMIERE, which was trailing that mare, contacted the sulky of HOT SHOT LADY and broke. As a result of the contact HOT SHOT LADY’s sulky wheel was in contact with a sulky fork. HOT SHOT LADY was then eased out of the event.
PODARKES was momentarily held up on the home turn.
RACE 4 – J BOAG & SON MOBILE DIVISION TWO – 2090 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from KAROOLA TOWN and HIGH FLYING RULER.
HIGH FLYING RULER was out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier starts.
Driver Craig Toulmin (IMUNSTOPPABLE) was reprimanded under rule AR 156(2) for using the whip in the freehand on one occasion prior to the 200 metres.
Driver Adrian Duggan (GRINABLE NZ) was fined the sum of $200 under rule AR 156(3)(b) for his excessive whip action.
Post race swab samples were taken from ARTILLERY FIRE the winner of the event.
RACE 5 – SEW EURODRIVE STAKES – 2090 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from HELEN WHEELS.
TICKETOMINT was held up rounding the home turn when TWO KAY ESS commenced to tire.
At the 400 metre mark TOPNOTCH SAMSON(Duncan Dornauf) obtained a three wide run when racing to the inside of the tiring TWO KAY ESS(Kenneth Austin). Mr. Dornauf was advised to take more care when shifting out under similar circumstances.
In the home straight DOYOUSEEWHATISEE was held up behind MODERN TEARS. As a result
PHAROAH’S WRATH and MUSTANG MINTY were also held up and MUSTANG MINTY then raced roughly.
Driver Nathan Ford (CITY BABE) was fined the sum of $200 under rule AR 156(3)(b) for his excessive whip action. Mr Ford was also issued with a reprimand under rule AR 156(2) for using the whip in the freehand prior to the 200 metres.
TICKETOMINT has been placed back in the draw for future mobile starts.
RACE 6 – BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH HANDICAP – 2579 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from POCKET BOY NZ.
RACE 7 – TASMANIA CUP 22 DECEMBER PACE – 2090 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from STAR CHAMBER and CULLENS COUNT NZ.
Trainer Mr Paul Medhurst was fined the sum of $50 under rule AR 210 for a late driver notification. Adrian Duggan replaced James Austin as driver of BETA BOLT.
BONA FIDE HUSTLER was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver Adrian Collins. Connections were advised that the gelding has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future mobile barrier starts.
Racing into the back straight on the final occasion MISTER BOSWELL (Dylan Ford) left its position in the one out line and shifted outwards checking BONA FIDE HUSTLER (AdrianCollins) which then broke. Driver Dylan Ford (MISTER BOSWELL) was found guilty of a charge under rule AR 163(1)(a) and his driver’s licence suspended for a period of 3 race dates commencing midnight 13th October 2013 and expiring at midnight 3rd November 2013.
KIKUYU NZ was inconvenienced by the galloping BONA FIDE HUSTLER.
KIKUYU NZ was checked and broke at the 300 metres. Stewards have adjourned an inquiry into the reasons why this occurred.
Post race swab samples were taken from STAR CHAMBER the winner of the event.
RACE 8 – BIG PARK STUD CLAIMER – 2090 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from GIVITANAME.
GOSH HEZA REBEL NZ galloped out. Connections were advised that the gelding has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future standing start events.
Driver Dylan Ford (BRIAN BUSTER BROWN) was reprimanded under rule AR 156(2) for using the whip in the freehand prior to the 200 metres.
GENERAL
Stewards conducted checks to ensure drivers were wearing safety vests at tonight’s meeting.
Driver Nathan Ford was fined the sum of $200 under rule AR 159A(7) in that he failed to wear a safety vest.
