INSTRUCTIONS

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Any new technical product or process that was first available for purchase or licensing between Jan. 1, 2011, and Dec. 31, 2011, may be entered.
  • Proof-of-concept prototypes do not qualify; the submitted entry must be in working, marketable condition.
  • Products requiring regulatory approval, such as drugs and medical devices, must have completed all trials and received marketing approval by aregulatory authority such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or international counterparts.

2. COMPLETE THIS 2012 R&D 100 AWARDS ENTRY FORM. Completed forms are only accepted digitally. NOTE: Save the form to your desktop, copy into your preferred word processing program, and answer all questions as provided in this form. Submit as a Microsoft Word (.doc) or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) document. A suggested length for the completed awards entry form is 10 to 20 pages. The entry form and supporting materials must be submitted in English.

3. ADDITIONAL FILES AND MULTIMEDIA. Supporting information is encouraged: scientific papers, images, videos, testimonials, etc. Reference this material by file name and brief description in the Entry Form and provide as a separate document. Videos should be posted on your server or a third party service such as YouTube. Provide a link to the video in the entry document.

4. PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF PRODUCT’S EXISTENCE.

A. PHOTOGRAPH. Include at least one photograph of the product or screen shot of software in the entry form.

B. WRITTEN PROOF. Provide material that demonstrates the product has been sold, has been licensed, or was first available for licensing during the 2011 calendar year. Marketing materials, press materials, purchase orders, or licensing agreements are acceptable forms of proof.

5. ACCEPTED FILES. R&D 100 Awards entries are accepted electronically via the instructions in step 6. We do not accept paper entries or product samples. Completed entries should be uploaded as a single file: a PDF, Word document, text, or zip file are all acceptable. Do not send PowerPoint files. Total file size should not exceed 50 MB.

6. SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY. This is a three-step process:

A. Visit to register your entry and submit the entry fee of $325.

B. Rename your file using your organization’s name and the RegOnline registration ID you receive upon payment. Example: 22016131_AdvantageBusinessMedia.zip. The registration ID is located on your confirmation page, and on the confirmation email.

C. Upload the file to the R&D 100 YouSendIt page at:

7. ENTRIES ARE ACCEPTED AS IS. We cannot issue refunds for products entered into the R&D 100 Awards between Aug. 15, 2011 and April 30, 2012 that are later withdrawn, incomplete, or do not meet the eligibility requirements.

8. EARLY BIRD. Entries submitted before Nov. 15, 2011, are eligible for early review by R&D editors upon request. The editors will provide recommendations to improve the entry by Dec. 15, 2011. Revised entries must be submitted by April 30, 2012.
