The South West London International Film Festival (SWIFF) is due once again in Colliers Wood, SW London in November 2014. The festival offers independent filmmakers and photographers from around the globe the opportunity to have their work seen by award-winning judges, fellow filmmakers and a broad public audience.
For an ethical choice in filmmaking and film presenting - we care about the films that we present and make for our community and the people we work with. We are one hundred percent committed to fairness and equality in every project in our festival and the people that we collaborate with. Our festival is your festival!
We now invite all filmmakers to submit their work to be considered for inclusion in the 3rd SWIFF Film Festival in November 2014. Selected films will be given a public screening at one of the SW19 centres.
We screen films in five categories:
Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental/photographic/still moving-image and Under 16. The films must have been made during the last four years (January 2010 - September 2014).
Awards will be given for each category, as follows:
Best Short Documentary - Max 30 minutes long
Best Long Documentary – 30-180 minutes long
Best Short Fiction- Max 30 minutes long
Best Long Fiction– 30-180 minutes long
Best Still moving-image- Max10 minutes long
Best Animation – Max 180 minutes long
Best Under 16 year old Competition: Max10 minutes long, No submission fee
Golden Leaf Grand Jury Prize for overall winner

Regulations
Before you send us your film please make sure you have read the following:
- Films must not have been completed earlier than 31 August 2010
- Films must be submitted with a completed Submission form (this form will be sent to you by email with the authorisation code once £5 payment has been made)
- Films can be any style or genre, but must be no more than 180 minutes in length
- All the images and soundtracks used in your film must be your own or you must have permissionof the copyright holder to use their music/images in your film
- Films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English, unless dialogue or commentary is unnecessary for comprehension and appreciation
- Music videos and experimental films will only be accepted if they clearly fit into one of the following categories: Animation, Fiction, Documentary, Still moving image, Under 16
- By submitting your film to the Future Film Festival you give us permission to screen your film at screening(s) during the Festival and at special screenings during the entire year following the SWIFF.
- You may send your film by (i) a link or (ii) DVD.
(i)Please send us a digital copy of your Submission Form (signed and dated) with a working link (and password) to your film online, preferred formats are MOV File or MP4 file not exceeding 10GB (Youtube, Vimeo, Wetransfer, etc)
(ii) If you are sending your submission by post then please send us one copy of your film on DVD (PAL with only one subtitle encapsulated on the image) and enclose the signed Submission Form.
- You maysubmitone ortwo still images from your film, and any poster artwork and press materials that can be used for promotional purposes (Hi resolution JPEG – no more than 3MB in size)
- DVDs submitted for consideration must be clearly marked with the film title, director/filmmaker name, running time, authorisation code and email address.
- We do not guarantee films will be selected for the Film Festival
- We are only able to notify successful short-listed applicants. We will not return DVDs so please do not send us the original copy.
Payment:
- BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR FILM, PLEASE PAY BY PAYPAL THE FEE OF £5 FOR EACH ENTRY. ONCE PAYMENT IS RECEIVED YOU WILL GET AN AUTHORISATION CODE WHICH YOU MUST WRITE ON YOUR SUBMISSION FORM AND ON THE DVD.
- PLEASE EMAL US AT TO INFORM US THAT YOU HAVE MADE A PAYMENT TO PAYPAL AND TELL US YOUR FULL NAME AND THE EMAIL YOU USE FOR PAYPAL SO WE CAN FIND THE PAYMENT.
- ONCE THE £5 IS RECEIVED WE WILL SEND YOU THE SUBMISSION FORM.

N.B. you need an authorisation code before you submit your film.
Selected Films:
Not all selected films will be nominated for an award but all films selected will be screened during the festival.
If your film is selected:
- We will contact you by email to inform you that your film has been selected.
- The festival will be open to anyone to attend (venue not decided yet).
- By signing theSubmission form you agree to let your film be screened during the SWIFF Festival 2014 and at special screenings during the entire year following the SWIFF, and for SWIFF to mention/use your film on its website and other promotional materials.
