Scholarship Eligibility:

Student must

  • be a U.S. Citizen and identify themselves as African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, or Pacific Islander (federally recognized minority groups).

have completed at least one year of a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) undergraduate program and have an academic level of sophomore in fall 2012

have a minimum of 24 credit hours completed by spring 2012 and a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.

Enrolled full-time in a Virginia Space Grant member institution (Old Dominion University, Hampton University, The College of William and Mary, University of Virginia or Virginia Tech).

Requirements for application:

  3. Unofficial transcript from your current institution that include grades for spring 2012 may be emailed
  4. One letter of recommendation from professor, faculty member or advisor supporting your application and interest in STEM/STEM Careersmay be submitted via email, fax. Letter must be on letterhead and if emailed, in .pdf format.
