2011-2012 Student Council Activities

September:

§ Pocket Change Challenge between the Middle School and the Elementary. Profit of $432 given to the Medicine Creek Golf Course.

§ Concessions at home volleyball games

§ Back to School dance with Debbie Miller, Jason Urban, Lorri Wagner, and Mrs. Eppard as chaperones.

§ Helped with Senior Meals

October:

§ Continued with the pocket change challenge (jars were not full)

§ Rewarded Middle School, Kennebec Elementary, and Presho Elementary students for dressing up during homecoming week (treat box). Everyone who dressed up got to pick a treat.

§ Walked in the Homecoming Parade as a group with a sign indicating our group.

§ Concessions at home volleyball games

§ Held a Perfect Attendance social for middle school students. Gave door prizes (some donated by the booster club) and had pretzels in the music room.

§ Gave popcorn balls to Kennebec Elementary and Middle School students who had perfect attendance. (Made by Diane Hamer)

§ Gave Diane Hamer a $20 Gift Certificate to BJ’s Food Center for making the popcorn balls.

§ Held a pumpkin decorating contest and gave prizes for first and second place in five categories.

§ Jersey Dance with dance lessons prior to it. Debbie Miller, Mrs. Eppard, Mrs. Thiry, and Mrs. Wagner were chaperones.

§ Gave proceeds ($262) from the basketball game to the Lyman County Ambulance in memory of Mike Schmidt.

§ Sponsored a Christmas Activity day with prizes for a volleyball tournament: concession drink or smoothy donated by the Presho Pharmacy.

§ Sold chances on “Egg”cellent prize, earning $75 which was donated to the Greater Lyman Foundation. Conrad Mohr-Eymer was the winner of 20 Powerades.

February

§ Sold Valentine’s Day pop that was delivered on Valentine’s Day. Earned $674 to be divided amongst Reliance, Kennebec, Presho, and Vivian Fire departments ($100 each) and Lake Byre ($274).

March

§ Held a Hat & Sucker Day earning $122 which was donated to Ireland Hyde’s Carnival Fundraiser.

§ Held a dance with a drawing held for four prizes. Attendees who brought a can good to the dance got their name entered into the drawing. Natasha Thiry, Mrs. Eppard, and Mrs. Wagner were chaperones.

§ Student Council convention on March 24th. Cost $490.

April

§ Sold remaining pop and candy over the lunch hour.

§ Donated remaining water to the track team for two meets.

May

§ Purchased a volleyball net, basketball hoop, and paint for Lake Byre

§ Did a community service project by painting the bathrooms at Lake Byre

§ Held a dance on May 15th and sold remaining pop

§ Donated cans of pop left over from the Valentine’s Day pop sale to the middle school students.

§ Donated the remaining bottled pop to the school’s pop machine for providing a pop for Students who receive the Student of the Month or Most Improved student.
