2.  Annual membership dues will be the same throughout the golf season, no matter when a member joins. Dues will not be prorated at anytime during the season.

3.  Annual membership dues will not be refunded after the first scheduled WWGL play date. Any refunds prior to the first scheduled WWGL play date, will be charged a $10 administration fee. If the first scheduled WWGL play date falls after the GHIN Deletion Deadline, then applicable CWGA GHIN dues will be charged in addition to the $10 administrative fee.

4.  The Board will determine the distribution and amounts of the prize awards. The Board shall leave a minimum of $200 in operating funds in the WWGL’s bank account for the following year.. Any checks returned for insufficient funds shall be subject to a service charge that is based on the WWGL’s bank charges.

Tournament Rules

1.  Members shall sign up for tournaments as follows and no later than 5:00 PM Sunday prior to any scheduled tournament or play date:

a.  Method of Pre-payment: Members must use a Premier Card (PC) or Gift Card (GC), issued by the Aurora Golf Division at any course. Cards must have a sufficient balance available to cover green’s fees for the next play date for which the member has signed up by at least the Sunday prior to the play date. Members using a PC or GC must list the card number on their registration form or email the card number to the Tee Time Chairperson before using the card. Anyone not emailing a card number to the Tee Time Chairperson will not receive a tee time. On the day of play, you must present the PC or GC to the golf shop personnel to swipe in their computer. Members only need provide their PC or GC once each season unless they have a change in card number.

b.  Play Date/Tournament sign up: Members may sign up for the upcoming play date (members must notify Tee Times chair each week for the dates they wish to play) no later than 5:00 PM Sunday prior to any scheduled tournament or play date by one of the following methods:

i.  Send an email directly to the Tee Times chair by 5PM the Sunday prior to the play date.

ii.  Call the Tee Times chair by 5PM the Sunday prior to the play date (this is the least preferred method).

iii.  Tee times will not be assigned to members requesting tee times after 5PM Sunday prior to the tournament date.

1.  The Tee Time Chairperson will assign tee times to those members who have signed up and prepaid green fees in accordance with the rules noted above. Consideration (but not a guarantee) will be given to tee times and playing partners requested on tournament sign up sheets.

2.  Aurora Golf limits the WWGL on the number of tee times allowed for each play date. Therefore we could have more member sign ups than we have available tee times. In this situation the Tee Time chair will assign the available tee times in accordance with a first come, first served approach and to the best of her ability, and with her sole discretion, try to accommodate the largest number of members as possible.

3.  Cancellation of Tee Time:

a.  The Club Rules are as follows: Cancellation of prepaid tee times is required 24 hours before the first tee time of the play date. Less than 24-hour notice may result in forfeiture of green fees, which will be at the discretion of the golf course. A telephone call to the golf course will not be considered formal notice of cancellation. If you need to cancel the day of play, call the Tee Time Chairperson, leaving a message if not there, and call the golf course to let them know you won’t be playing. YOU NEED TO DO BOTH. THIS IS ONLY ON THE DAY OF PLAY!! If canceling before the day of play, call or send an email to the Tee Time Chairperson stating you are unable to play, not the golf course.

4.  To compete for prize money, you must hole-out regardless of your handicap. If you decide to ‘pick-up’ rather than finish out the hole for any reason, you must note that on your card and disqualify yourself from the tournament. Note: when your score is posted into the GHIN system the maximum number of strokes will be used for your handicap (ESC), for the course you are playing, on any uncompleted hole.

5.  All tournament scorecards shall be placed in the WWGL box at the golf shop at the end of the round.

a.  All scorecards may only have a maximum of two players’ names on each card, one on the top half of the card and one on the bottom half of the card.

b.  The scorecards must contain the full name of the players; the gross scores and/or special scores, according to the instructions for the tournament; signatures for the scorer and attesting member; and date.

c.  Scorecards that are illegible or lack proper signatures will be disqualified from the tournament results and will not be eligible for prizes.

d.  Members keeping their own score on the tournament scorecard shall be automatically disqualified.

6.  In the event of a tie, unless otherwise communicated in the Rules or Description for a specific tournament, the WWGL will use the Matching Score Card method of settling a tie.How is this accomplished? The winner will be determined on the basis of the best score for the last nine holes. If the tying players have the same score for the last nine holes, then it will be determined on the basis of the last six holes, then the last three holes, and finally the 18th hole. When this method is used, one-half, one-third, one-sixth, or one-18th of the Course Handicaps should be deducted for net tournaments. Fractions of one-half stroke or more should count as a full stroke; any lesser fractions should be disregarded. If this does not produce a winner then the WWGL will split the winnings among the members who are tied.

7.  Club Championship: Members will be assigned tee times by flights and go out by flights A-B-C-D- on day one and D-C-B-A on day two.

8.  Hole in One Prize

a.  Participation is voluntary.

b.  WWGL members may sign up to participate any time throughout the season but no later than the start of the member’s last tournament of the year.

c.  Only WWGL members, who participate in the Hole‐in‐One pot, are eligible to win the pot.

d.  A member must pay and join the Hole‐in‐One Pot at the beginning of a tournament PRIOR to scoring a Hole‐in‐One (Ace).

e.  A participant wins the pot by scoring an Ace on any par 3 in any WWGL scheduled tournament (not WWGL casual play date).

f.  If there is more than one participant with an Ace in a single tournament, the pot will be split evenly among the winners.

g.  After the pot is won and distributed, WWGL members may pay $10 and participate in a new Hole‐in‐One Pot as listed above.

h.  At the end of every WWGL season, any remaining funds in a Hole‐in‐One Pot will be evenly dispersed to 25% of the Hole‐in‐One participants via a random drawing of the total current participants.

Prize Money

As you win tournament prize money it is added to the Aurora Golf Courses’ computer system. After the tournament has been posted to the website, a check is mailed or taken to the course with a distribution list. Once the Pro Shop posts the winnings to their computer, you can spend your winnings for any Pro Shop item(s) (excluding green fees, cart or range balls) at any Aurora City golf course. Members should allow a minimum of 15 days after the tournament results are posted before trying to use their winnings. You may also save your winnings to purchase a large item, i.e. bag, cart, sky caddie, or have them special order something. Prize money never expires so you can save it for as long as you want to make a large purchase. If you play in more than one league, all your winnings are included in the total. The Pro Shop cannot determine which league the winnings come from or which tournament. They only have the total amount.
