1. Each student will begin researching anywhere from 2-5 countries. The pertinent information needed for each country is:

  • A map locating the country within its continent.
  • Flag
  • Date became a country
  • What was it named prior to current name (if applicable)
  • In which sports will it be participating
  • Names of the athletes participating
  • 5 other facts about the country (for example, population, language spoken, primary business, industry or agriculture, average schooling achieved, etc.)

2. This will be put into a MS Word document along with images. It is to be typed, Times New Roman font, size 12, single-spaced, normal margins. The country name will be the title-centered, Times New Roman font, size 16, bold. Each country report is to be typed on its own Word document.

3. Reports are due on Tuesday, February 9th. Save them in My Computer > HardingCompletedAssignments>Riggle>2010 Olympics (3º) OR (7º) in whichever class you are.

4. Save them as: yourlastname, first letter of your first name, _ (underscore) your class period and then the name of your country. For example, if I were in 3º and writing a report about Spain, I would save it as: rigglec_3spain

5. This is the first part of the project and is worth 25 points per country. All documents MUST be finished by the due date. If necessary, this is to be done as a homework assignment.
