LEHIGHVALLEY INTER-CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - COMPETITIVE PHILOSOPHY
Since it’s inception in the early 1960’s (when it was known as the former Tri-City Matches), the Lehigh
Valley Inter-Club Championship has had an historical emphasis on competitiveness.
Although the core roster of the participating teams is host course golfers, a historical tradition of attracting & recruiting some of the top amateur golfers and young talented golfers from throughout the greater Lehigh Valley region into the league has been deemed appropriate in order to raise the talent level of the league.
A high level of talent further legitimizes the overall tournament, and makes the event an elite regional amateur golf competition.

1)TEAM SCORING: The Lehigh Valley Inter-Club Championship is scored on a stroke play basis. The low eight (6) out of eight (8) regular player scores, and the low three (3) out of five (5) senior player scores will be tabulated together to determine a team's score for a given round.
2)SEASON TEAM CHAMPION: The winner of the 2016 Lehigh Valley Inter-Club Championship will be awarded to the team with the lowest number of strokes at the conclusion of 54 holes of play (less holes if inclement weather forces a shortening of a round, or if a canceled round can not be rescheduled).
3)TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURE: Any ties for the team championship at the conclusion of the season will be broken as follows:
1. Five-team league: The low accumulated seventh place regular player scores for the entire competition; then the low accumulated fourth place senior player scores (if necessary) for the entire competition; then the low accumulated eighth place regular player scores (if necessary) for the entire competition; then the low accumulated fifth place senior player scores (if necessary) for the entire competition.
2. If a tie for the team championship still exists after all scores have been tabulated, co-champions will be declared for the season.
4)MATCH HOSTING: The top three teams (lowest number of strokes) will host the matches for the next calendar year.
5)CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH HOSTING: The championship team has the option to host the last (third) round of the following year. In the event of a tie for the team championship, the most recent outright team champion has the option to host the last (third) round the following year.
