To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (H.4712) making the South Carolina General Assembly and the City of Accra, Ghana, sister entities for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas concerning the legislative, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

ACONCURRENT RESOLUTION

MAKING THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE CITY OF ACCRA, GHANA, SISTER ENTITIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXCHANGING INFORMATION AND IDEAS CONCERNING THE LEGISLATIVE AND GOVERNMENTAL PROCESS OF EACH ENTITY.

Whereas, it is to the benefit and interest of Ghana and South Carolina that the General Assembly of South Carolina and the City of Accra, Ghana, exchange information and ideas concerning their legislative and governmental processes; and

Whereas, to foster friendship, cooperation, and a close relationship between government officials of the two entities, the General Assembly of South Carolina and the City of Accra, Ghana, are declared to be sister entities; and

Whereas, as sister entities, the discussion of mutual concerns and exchange of government officials will be facilitated; and

Whereas, these interactions will be of great benefit to both entities and their citizens. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the South Carolina General Assembly and the City of Accra, Ghana, are made sister entities for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas concerning the legislative and governmental process of each entity.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Alfred Vanderpuije, Mayor of the City of Accra, Ghana.
