4 courts in Maples 8 carts 96 balls

tape on courts blocking zone tape 2 large boxes

8 smaller boxes elastic 2 block-its

catch-it spike machine floor tape

********Evaluation of yesterdays scrimmage

***Very Good effort

***Team Focus: Most people focused from the start and maintained it.

Help you team know how to play with you, don’t be up and

Down.

***Serving***Good: short serves good. To many missed serves. Routines

getting better, everyone is becoming an effective server.

***Passing***Good form, good communication, especially when focused.

Need to do reps before next weekend in rotations.

***Blocking*** Good, but to many tools, lots of touches. Reading, Great!!

***Attacking***Must work on transition and SR combinations and

formations. Good choices not to make errors, but must get

better at the shots we are going to use. Improve at using our

approach length and approach angles.

***Defense***Good intensity, some very good coverage, good

communication most of the time, must get better at

dig and tip situations, not in balance.

***Setting***Good- To many low and or tight quicks, c’s to varied, 4’s are

getting better, need to use the deep dump in practice.

1. 10 min Juan Pablo Warm Up

2. 5 min Stretch as a team

3. 5 min set 50, movement set 50, oh pep dig to self, oh pep to part, any pepper.

4. 5 min Topspin or app jump pipes(setter can dump) vs 3 diggers. 3 min each gp

(cb, ew, je, hh, mm, ls) (kr, nn, bk, fa, fg, jf) Balance until read no dump

5. 10 min Block movement.

6. 10 min 5 person “game warm up” team defense drill

7. 15 min 3 on 3 winner’s court Jay starts from l or r , middle blocks

(plus a setter and middle) and trans… Same rules as normal.

Focus on great transition of middles and pipe hitters.

Water break

8. 5 min Serve #1. 3 courts 2 per side. 1 min each serve. Same location servers,

serve together. Z1, Z5, Z2, Z4.

9. 5 min 4 Corner serving drill- 3 min- keep your own points 1 pt for good, -1 for…

10. 15 min 125 Drill 2 groups (jf, kr, ew) and (nn, cb, hh) a group does 10

and then the other group does 10. Stat both groups.

Middles hit 3,3sr, 1, a, b, c. 20 of each. J &J & AF sv

The other group and a middle blocks quicksets.

11. 15 min def drill #1 Hit and dig #1 3 groups 4/5 per group. 3 courts. Coach with a line of diggers.

4 min max per court/ play a dig or a tip.

Rotate courts. Target catches 10 and switches.

12. 15 min def drill #2 Full def vs. 4 or c. Oh pass and hit. Middles come

from SR locations. Middles and opp. transition

13. 40 min Team Serve receive Do each rotation as many reps as possible vs. 3

blockers. Not playing it out.

14. 20 min 15 point games 2/3 to 15 continued from yesterday same teams.

15. 5 min Team stretching then cold water!!!
