TO CONGRATULATE SPARTANBURG’S BROOME HIGH SCHOOL LADY CENTURIONS CROSSCOUNTRY TEAM AND ITS COACH SKIP FRYE ON CAPTURING THE A/AA STATE CROSSCOUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO HONOR THEM FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.
Whereas, excellence in crosscountry running demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as good sportsmanship and team support; and

Whereas, freshman Lauren Hutson led the team to its amazing victory, finishing with a time of 19:42 over the 5000 meter course; and
Whereas, junior Addie Hutson finished fourth overall with a time of 20:13 and seniors Mary Alexander and Sawyer Langston also made the AllState Team with eighth and eleventh place finishes; and
Whereas, though only in the seventh grade, Meredith Frye rounded out the team’s top five runners; and
Whereas, Lauren Hutson, Addie Hutson, Mary Alexander, and Sawyer Langston brought acclaim to their team by making the AllRegion Team; and Lauren and Addie Hutson captured AllArea honors while Mary Alexander and Sawyer Langston were named to the AllArea Academic Team; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly take great pride in commending the young women of the Broome High School Lady Centurions CrossCountry Team for their tireless efforts and great determination in an outstanding season and recognize them as veritable model student athletes. Now, therefore,
