A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND MORGAN E. LEE, A SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER AND SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT CHAIR AT E. L. WRIGHT MIDDLE SCHOOL OF RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TWO, UPON BEING NAMED TEACHER OF THE YEAR FOR 2005-2006 AT E. L. WRIGHT.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Morgan E. Lee, a social studies teacher and social studies department chair at E. L. Wright Middle School of Richland County School District Two, has been elected Teacher of the Year for 2005-2006 at E. L. Wright; and

Whereas, Morgan Lee is also a recipient of the district’s October Culture of Excellence Award, and is the Richland County School District Two 2005-2006 Honor Roll Teacher of the Year; and

Whereas, this talented and personable educator holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Masters of Education (Educational Administration) from the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, he has spent his career at schools in Richland and Orangeburg Counties and has served in many varied capacities including classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal; and

Whereas, he has served in a number of important leadership roles including being a member of the Richland Two Leadership Council, Richland Two Teacher Forum, South Carolina Leadership Institute for Gifted Education, and Richland Two Middle School Task Force; and

Whereas, educating young minds is one of the most important responsibilities a society has and Morgan Lee is an example of a person who is making a difference in the lives of future generations of South Carolinians; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to honor and publicly recognize this truly outstanding man for his receipt of this very deserved honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly recognize and commend Morgan E. Lee, a social studies teacher and social studies department chair at E. L. Wright Middle School of Richland County School District Two, upon being named Teacher of the Year for 2005-2006 at E. L. Wright.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Morgan E. Lee.
