A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND THE “LADY CAVALIERS” GOLF TEAM OF DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL OF SPARTANBURG FOR THEIR COMPETITIVE SPIRIT AND OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE INDIVIDUALLY AND AS A TEAM THROUGHOUT THE 2000 CLASS AAAA GIRLS GOLF COMPETITION AND CONGRATULATE THEM ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR WINNING THE 2000 CLASS AAAA GIRLS GOLF STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, no one in South Carolina’s Class AAAA Girls Golf league made use of their clubs this past season or played better than the “Lady Cavaliers” of Dorman High School; and
Whereas, the game of golf is character building in that it requires disciplined practice and genuine dedication in order to develop the swing, concentration, and skills necessary and desired for a competitive game; and no one in South Carolina’s Class AAAA Girls Golf league exhibited more character, discipline, or dedication this past season than the “Lady Cavaliers” of Dorman High School; and
Whereas, the “Lady Cavaliers” Girls Golf Team, so ably coached by Terry Lewis, won many competitive matches and finished the 2000 season with an outstanding record of twenty wins and no losses; that along the way the “Lady Cavaliers” won the Lexington “Lady Cat” Tournament and the Dorman “Cavaliers” Invitational Tournament; and that the “Lady Cavaliers” teamwork and dedication to the game throughout the season enabled them to win the 2000 Class AAAA Girls Golf State Championship for Dorman High School of Spartanburg; and
Whereas, the individual members of the 2000 “Lady Cavaliers” championship girls golf team include Haley Bush, Lindsey Deweese, Jessica Gorski, Bethanny Groce, Amy Hughes, Katie Krantz, Erica Mueller, Laura Parris, Katie Thomas, Christie Trainer, Jessica Vanderford, Kelly White, Katy Worthy, all of whom deserve heartfelt congratulations for their individual and team accomplishments. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend the “Lady Cavaliers” Golf Team of Dorman High School of Spartanburg for their competitive spirit and outstanding performance individually and as a team throughout the 2000 Class AAAA Girls Golf competition and congratulate them on the occasion of their winning the 2000 Class AAAA Girls Golf State Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Terry Lewis on behalf of the “Lady Cavaliers” Girls Golf Team of Dorman High School of Spartanburg.
