On thenext wizard pageweneed to specifyan addressspace to be served forthis connector.

The address space „*“ meansthis send connector issendingout email to any domain on the internet. You can build additional specific send connectorsforother targetaddresses, like “*@sistercompany.com” if there are special routing requirements.

On the next page weswitchtheconfigurationto Route email through your providerSMTP relay server

The lastpageof the wizardisneededtoenter theprovider smtprelay serversusername/passwordcredentials. Almost all providerserversrequire youtolog in before youcan use their relay servers to send out emailto protect againstspamsenders. It doesnot matter which users login data you use, thiswill not change the email content.Anyprovider smtpserver login will do.

3.Configurethereceiveconnectorforincomingemail

POPconusesSMTP toforward emailstoExchange. For this to work we need to change two Exchange2007 default configuration settings:The maximum email size is fixed to 10MB here and we needto addthe anonymoususerto thepermission groupinorder toallowPOPconto transfer email.

We can findthese configuration settingsunderServerConfiguration,Hub Transport, Receive Connectors, Properties of theDefault Receive Connector:

The Maximum message size is fixedto 10240KB(10MB)by default ontheGeneral tabof theseproperties Change that to 102400 (100MB)in order nottoallow longer emails tocome through. You can alwayslimit individualuser’sallowed maximumemail sizes.

Wealso need toadd the Anonymoususerstot hePermissionGroupstabin order toallowPOPconto connect to this receive connector at all.
