Please select any two subjects from the options available within AS200 to a total of 20 ECTS credits.
For each of the following pairs of courses, both subjects within the pair must be taken, or else the pair must not be taken at all:
(a) MA203 + 204 (b) MA211 + 212 (c) MA237 + 238 (d) MM245 + 246 (e) MA206 + 207.
It is not permitted to combine Calculus (MA211/212) and Statistics(MA237/238) within Applied Mathematical Science.
It is not permitted to take Statistics(MA237/238) as part of Applied Mathematical Science if the student’s second subject is in Group 7 (Irish, Italian, Philosophy).
Admission to each course is by permission of the Professor of Mathematics or Applied Mathematics as appropriate. Normally, only those students who have passed 1st Year Mathematics will be admitted to the Calculus or Algebra courses.
Only those students who have passed 1st Year Mathematics or Applied Mathematics will be admitted to the Methods of Mathematical Physics, Numerical Analysis or Statistics courses.
Only those students who have passed 1st Year Applied Mathematics will be admitted to the Mechanics course.
