Appointment as SAGE National Coordinator: 2006-2007

SAGE stands for Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship, an international joint program initiated by California State University, Chico, with participation currently of 11 countries: Brazil, China, Ghana, Philippines, Russia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the United States (see http://www.csuchico.edu/sage)

The SAGE Vision is:

Creating better futures through business entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and community service.

The SAGE Mission is:

To advance youth entrepreneurship and community service around the world, emphasizing ethical business practices, social responsibility, civic engagement and environmental awareness. In accomplishing this mission, one team of high school students from each high school completes real-world projects under the direction and consultation of university students.

This program provides an outstanding arena for high school students, college students and business leaders to interact and cooperate to make our community a better place through entrepreneurship education and community service projects. The ___-year (# years) history of the SAGE program in ______(country) has been based on the hard work of devoted individuals and organizations that are touched by the SAGE spirit.

As the founder and executive director of the Global SAGE program, and in consultation with the SAGE Global Advisory Board, I am pleased to appoint ______ as the <Country> national SAGE Coordinator for 2006 -2007.

The primary duties of the ______(country) SAGE National Coordinator are:

(1)  To identify and appoint (with approval from SAGE Home Office in California) regional SAGE coordinators and to communicate regularly, by phone, fax, email, with all regional ______(Country) SAGE Coordinators during the period from September 2006 through June 2007, ensuring the coordination and success of each regional program.

(2)  To conduct a national ______(country) SAGE event, identifying ONE ______(Country) SAGE champion to represent ______(Country) at the World Cup competition in August 2007.

(3)  To seek operational grant funds to help ______(Country) SAGE expand its program.

(4)  To enter into alliances and partnerships with organizations that support SAGE’s mission.

(5)  To begin the process of recognizing SAGE as an official non-profit education organization recognized by the government of ______(Country).

(6)  To keep the Continental SAGE Coordinator informed of all major activities of the National SAGE office, and to comply with all requests made by the Continental SAGE Coordinator.

SAGE World Headquarters will pay for three nights’ lodging (3 people to a room), one welcome reception, one dinner, one lunch, and one cultural outing for all members of the ______(Country) SAGE national delegation to attend the Fifth Annual SAGE World Cup, which will take place in Odessa, Ukraine on August 2-5, 2007. http://www.csuchico.edu/sage for details).

All other costs to organize and conduct the ______(Country) SAGE program must be borne by SAGE office in ______(Country).
