Sight Words

Practice reading each night. You need to be able to “see it and say it” within 3 seconds.The first six (across) will be used in sentences on the Weekly Lesson Test.

Oral Vocabulary

You need to understand the meaning of each word and be able to use it in a sentence. Please review themeach night.

demand: If you demand someone to do something, you ask forcefully or strongly.

emergency: An emergency is something that you do not expect and need to take care of right away.

conflict: A conflict is a disagreement or problem between two or more people.

fair: If something is fair, it is reasonable and follows the rules.

argument: An argument is a fight that uses words.

risk: A risk is a danger or the possibility that something bad may happen.

shift: If I shift something, I move it a little bit from one place to another.

Spelling Words

You need to know how to spell these words.

1. moon / 6. soup
2. tune / 7. toy
3. flew / 8. coin
4. blue / 9. door
5. fruit / 10. enough

Spelling Homework

Practice spelling and writing the words, write sentences using the spelling words, and write the spelling words in alphabetical order.

Thursday- Test day. No homework.

Phonics Skill: Read words with Variant Vowel/u/: -u, –oo, -u_e,-ew, ue, ui, and –ou.

Structural Analysis: Suffixes –ful, and –less; Synonyms
