Please be sure to carefully review all Information and Rules before submitting your Application(s) and notarized Waiver(s). Application(s) and notarized Waiver(s) must be received prior to the October 1st 2010 deadline. Fully completed Application(s) and notarized Waiver(s) will be a determining factor for acceptance.
Please make sure to include your $100.00 entry fee for each Bird Dog Challenge Team along with your completed Application(s) and notarized Waiver(s).

BIRD DOG CHALLENGE
Information and Rules
Challenge Date: Thursday, October 21, 2010
Time: 9:00am – ?
Location:Co. Hwy B - 5 miles west of Land O’ Lakes- Look for the sign
Application Deadline: October 1, 2010
Challenge Registration: 2-Man/1-Dog Teams. Teams are required to submit applications with notarized waiver forms by the October 1st deadline. All Team Shooters must sign a notarized liability waiver form before they will be allowed to participate in the Challenge. Applications must be complete to be accepted.
Registration Fee: $100.00 per Dog and is due with submission of application. Certified checks, money orders or personal checks postdated for October 1st are accepted. Make checks payable to Ruffed Grouse Championship of America. Once the Team is accepted, the total entry fee ($100.00) becomes NON-REFUNDABLE after October 10th.
Challenge Times: The Challenge will begin at9AM. Each Team will have a maximum time limit of 20 minutes to complete all tasks.
Judges: Each Team will have a non-partisan Judge. Judges will be responsible for tracking time in the Challenge area, shots taken/shells used, birds taken and will award points for properly completed tasks.
Scoring: For this Challenge there are 4 task categories and 2 skill categories that will be awarded points as follows:
TASKSSKILL
Find – 50ptsAmmo Returned – 10pts per Shell
Shot Bird – 50ptsRemaining Time – 1pt per Second
Retrieve to Hand – 100pts
Partial Retrieve – 50pts
In the event of a tie, the winning Challenge Team will be determined by first, the number of remaining time the Team has and second, the number of remaining shells and third the total weight of birds harvested
Guns & Shells: Team Members may use any LEGAL shotgun shell and gun desired. Each Team will have 8 shells for the Challenge
Challenge Limit & Regulations: Maximum of 4 Chukar/Redleg partridgewill be available for the Challenge. This simulates a “Fair Chase” hunt and all Chukar are to be taken in flight only and not on the ground or perched.
Any shooters firing at a Chukar on the ground or perched will be DISQUALIFIED from the Challenge IMMEDIATELY.
Awards: FIRST-, SECOND- and THIRD places will be awarded at the end of the Challenge
OTHER CHALLENGE RULES & REGULATIONS:
There will be NO ALCOHOL tolerated during the Challenge. Anyone violating this rule will be immediately disqualified.
We ask that anyone choosing to smoke use extreme caution when in the field. Please have courtesy for the public lands.
